As an owner of the YG PN, go PM.

Bought a 2023 black dial 116500 on Friday. Not going to work out. Can't read the sub dials. Found it a little hard to read the time too. Having a chronometer where it's difficult to read the dials seems like a major fault to me. (Maybe my eyesight's not perfect anymore.) I work through a watchmaker who will be finding a Panda to replace it. Plan on putting it on an Everest black leather perforated strap. Seems like a good daily wear watch to me true to its heritage. I've done pretty well over the years in real estate. Always paid up for the ultimate in quality and scarcity.

My first Daytona was full yellow gold, a fantastic watch! Then I had RG OF chocolate dial. Also great but for me I felt like it needed to be part of a collection, not a stand-alone Daytona in the collection. Now I have the black dial steel Daytona. Can't afford to have all three. They all had merits and drawbacks. But I'm super happy with only having my steel Daytona and will save the PM for other watches and brands.

Would you say that rule applies to the TT models? A few weeks ago I was offered the TT White dial but declined. I have the bluesy which fulfills my desire for TT at the moment. Awesome to be offered any Daytona but not what I was looking to add for 20k.

At retail, definitely the SS. Even if you don't like it, flip it and use the money earned to get the PM.
If grey, the PM, as the SS price is still too inflated, while you pay a little more for the gold. Beside, there are so many SS Daytona black or panda, or older models everywhere. PM have more variant, so you probably be the only one with your variant and a bit more unique. I have a OF YF on Paul Newman dial and the old 116520 white dial, I have the same pleasure in wearing either one.

Trade the SS Daytona for a OF Daytona at retail. Would be almost an even swap if you can get an OF Daytona at retail.

Agree with pretty much all the advice given so far. Just buy what you like.

Both are great deals w/ if picked up at AD for retail but obviously SS % return is higher. But even the OF 126 reference sell for 10-15k over retail on the grey also.
As someone that owns a SS 126500 - the Oysterflex daytona models are beautiful and i'd take either or. Would not turn down either call. |

One thing to keep in mind is that the Oysterflex may not be comfortable for you. I personally find it a bit odd and with the heft of the PM case it causes the watch to wear odd when walking. The OF is also for me uncomfortable when sized to fit tight unlike other brands rubber straps which are more comfortable. Never had this issue with steel bracelet watches

Buy both is the only good answer. Doesn’t matter how and if from same dealer.
White SS can’t even compared to a full yellow gold. Put them close and you get what I mean but of course at list price you have to take it just for speculation |

as has already been said it's entirely up to you whichever one you feel more drawn to would be the one I would go with if I were you. However from my own perspective I would go stainless steel panda.
