Thanks Lee. And nothing wrong with Squiers, imo! I had a black Squier Tele, made in 1983 but with a ‘70s look, that I stupidly sold for cheap a couple of years ago. I miss it.

Scalloped fretboards are designed to reduce friction between the guitarist's fingers and the fretboard itself by limiting contact. Yngwie Malmsteen is another noteworthy artist with a scalloped fretboard signature Stratocaster, and it really suits his playing (classical-metal fusion or whatever)

Yes but... Hard to hit notes correctly as it adds stretch. When my fretboard starts looking like that I pay for a new one.

Actually I new this and was just kidding a bit.

A funny story is Ritchie have done this work by himself on his guitars and he send one in for repair. He was not happy when he got it back
and the guy have "repair" all the frets as a bonus. 🤣🤣🤣
