I've never read a positive message about Tourneau, what the heck is wrong with these people ?

Who buys new Rolexes there???

Dont claim to know their biz strategy, but clearly something keeps them in business. Moving Rolexes must not be their money maker though.

Perhaps they are like McDonalds. McDs breaks even on burgers, but make $$$ on fries and soda. Rolex must just be a draw for Turdneau customers who ultimately buy somethng else?? But What???

Maybe they make a huge profit on the Tourneau Branded watches. They might cost $50 to make, but they probably actually retail them for $500.

Have never seen Turdneau watches on anyone...They have to have a "high" volume line or lines.

My parents bought a pair probably 20 years back, and my Dad just threw his away because it broke. Then they switched to Rolex and they never bought Tourneau watches again.

Coming from very humble beginnings, and working for every penny I have, I'm used to researching and agonizing over every large purchase. These stores must be built for the people who never had to look at a price tag in their lives. I have a few friends like that and it must be something to experience. I've always figured that there are things that are simply priced very high just to give some people the feeling of superiority. You can only get so much material and labor in an item.

I have been to hundreds of watch shops and I can say without a doubt Tourneau is the worst by far. I was told by Tourneau that they would match any other B&M shops advertised price. I brought them in a copy of the sales ad and they then told me that it was their prerogative to match or not to match. They declined and I have never been back. I just do not know how they manage to stay in business with all the stories I read about them.

Shops like that rely on impulse buyers with lots of plastic in their wallets.

It may be crazy but, sadly it's true. I agree with others that a part of the Rolex franchise agreement should preclude an AD from acting as a re-seller of pre-owned Rolex watches. At least not under the same roof.

I was in a store (not Torneau) earlier today that had an assortment of low-end watches, and also had a couple of pre-owned Rolexes for sale. One of them was an all-stainless DJ with the old-style clasp, on sale for $4K. What a joke! They also had a two-tone DJ with the old-style clasp for $7K. Needless to say, they are out of their minds.

I have a positive story. The Palm Beach store on Worth Ave. Had the most stunning blonde, very nice! And served wine or soft drinks as I was shopping. Brought out trays of watches to try on, but I was a little distracted by her perfect cleavage. No, she was no watch expert, but I walked out with a Sub Date, and 12 months no interest thru my AMEX card. I was happy. Would have been more happy with her number!

All in all, a most pleasant experience. The Atlanta store SUX!

I love Tourneau!

There shops are clean and upscale. Their service is great too!

But I would never buy anything from them; I just go there look at watches!

David, it is good that you had a positive experience, and everyone should shop where they are most comfortable, which includes price, service, atmosphere, etc. We can all bring up good and bad experiences with all the ADs in the world, it's just rare that a good one comes from Tourneou....

P.S. PM me next time you're in the market, my AD (Ben Bridge) will give you the 12 mos no interest as well.

I agree but, sadly, that seems to be Rolex policy. It's not just Rolex USA that does this.

As for Rolex generally having to treat their customers better; I agree. However, what many don't really appreciate is that, to Rolex, the end buyer is not their customer. Their customers are the authorised dealers who buy watches from them (to sell to the likes of you and me).
