What I actually meant was the fascination in Rolexes.

But I know what you mean. My Grandmother never threw away the plastic containers she received from takeout restautants. I'm sure there's a collection of quart size soup tubs somewhere in Kalibo that my kids are destined to inherit.

We grew all up about 100 miles southwest of Chicago. I live here now for school, in which I will probably stay up here to work.

I have never been the Philippines, but I plan to someday!

Kumusta, mga pare!

From Davao, myself. It seems a few of us have connections to this place, which is pretty cool.

My attraction to Rolex started with my dad. He had a TTDJ, which he gave to my brother and another which, he gave to me. Now, he wears a platinum day-date with diamond markers and I got myself a new AK. I also have an Oris Artelier Skeleton, a Breitling Superocean, a Breguet TypeXX and a suunto HR monitor plus a G-shock.

By the way, awesome collection jdH!

I recently bought one for my wife (who is not Filipino) and certainly will end up giving my collection to my sons. So I would say that my family is heavily invested. filipinos are watch freaks and very vain in nature. So Rolex is actually one word that can be directly associated with filipinos.

Do you have an AD that you recommend? my brother is looking to buy a Sub.

BTW. Is it safe to wear a Rolex in the Philippines. I hear stories that people have good eye in spotting real ones, and is it true you will also get mugged wearing a rolex in the philippines aswell?

Oh it is not that bad, I wear a Datejust and one of my clients wears a all gold Day-Date everyday... actually, seeing a Rolex in the wild is not unusual.... there are so many high quality fake Rolex's here, I do not know how many are real and how many are fakes. Mobile phones and laptops make you more of a target I think.

Am from Quezon City, but since I am a real estate lawyer I moved my office and residence to Cavite last year. Well that is where all the title fraud is these days Man, I really need a different job.

Greetings from Cavite:

I THINK ALMOST EVERY PART IN THE WORLD ARE, DEPENDS ON WHICH PART.
SAY US of A, dark alley in Detroit, or downtown LA, will wear your YGs or TTs?

So in the Philippines is not remote.

I was even robbed inside ONE OF THE BIGGEST HOTEL/CASINO IN THE WORLD, considering the the number of SEcurity Personnels 2 or more in every corner with lots of EYE IN THE SKY as back up.
