That's awesome! I've been thinking of modifying my polar or explorer 1 too. Nice work!

Cool. When those renderings of a ceramic Explorer II were coming out I was curious why no one had ever done this. Neat project.

I appreciate the positive comments all!

I considered this too, but not having exactly matching lume would mess with my OCD. I have a TI Pelagos with the lumed bezel and I think the lumed bezel is really neat.

Well done but if I see it on someone's wrist I'll tend to think it's those fantasy fake models on the market. I prefer to keep original as same especially for discontinued pieces.

Your post has got me think again.. I've contemplated about sorting a sprite-sh bezel for my 116710LN, it would be aftermarket as Rolex isn't about to sell my an original, I think it would look good on a properly laid out GMT

Big on the overall outcome! I like the look of a matte black bezel, which is my objection to most of the ceramics out there - too glossy.

Definitely not what I was thinking when I saw the title of the post…well executed and looks great. The best part is you have all original components so you can always witch it back if you get tired of it.

Well done!

Only thing that ever held me back from the EXII polar was the bezel. I would purchase that beauty from Rolex is they manufactured one. Well-done!

It looks surprisingly nice although I actually think it's too similar to the Panda.

This honestly looks amazing!

Are you able to swap the bezel yourself? I'd love to have this option when I eventually get my hands on a 16570 polar.

Thanks for the feedback, all.

I've received a few PMs about the shop I used, so I figure I would just post here:

I used a small shop in Tokyo that specializes on DLC and bespoke customization. The DLC cost ¥60,000 and the white painting was ¥10,000 which comes to just over $500 USD.

https://cloud-watch.jp/

I initially contacted International Watch Works and VaporTech in the US to commission the work, but they never responded back to me. I was hopeful of using IWW as they seemed to have good reviews in the past.

The other option was using Pro Hunter in the UK. They were very responsive and helpful, but shipping the bezel back and forth was looking to be time consuming and costly with customs/duties.
