Could I? Yes.
Would I? Perhaps, but unlikely. Do I? No. Part of a 15 watch “rotation” and there are three or four of the fifteen that get the most use. Daytona isn’t one of them. |

Any of the models with the Oyster and PCLs will show wear with light scratches. Not a big deal to most people, but clearly such marks are not for some folks.

I wear them daily for many years
have the black and white, wear them daily, while cycling, while swimming open water, I don't paint the house with them :-)
As long as you're not close inspecting them. they look new. I also own a WG, non-ceramic, the bezel is scratched and the "shine" has gone. I wouldn't wear a new non ceramic gold Daytona as a daily. My 2c |

Scratches on the polished center links on the oyster is par for the course.
Do people worry about the steel or precious metal bezels? They do seem like scratch magnets on the daytona. I have never owned one. |

I wouldn't worry about scratches on the oyster bracelet. They can be polished of course down the road... or a new bracelet can be purchased. Wear the watch.

Let's see: no date window, no second time zone, worthless bezel noone uses, cluttered dial. Nope, not a daily, nor in my collection.

No, but I do wear my Zenith Daytona as a travel watch. It's a tradition with me. It's pretty beat up compared to my other watches, but it's OK, it's in all my travel photos! The Daytona never changed, buy I did!

I don’t have to but I could very easily wear my Daytona as my one and only. It’s the most comfortable model which qualifies it as an ideal daily model. It’s an oyster so you never have to take it off even for water sports. It has a low profile so it will sit under any shirt or coat cuff. It has a flip lock clasp so it will always be secure for even the most robust activities.
Go for it.

I've been wearing my 116520 daily. It's my first Rolex and it does make me a little nervous but it's super comfortable and I'm getting more used to it on my wrist all the time every day. Love it.

100% you can as long as youre okay with PCL getting scratched. If you've got Daytona money though, I'd suggest at least having a Seiko diver at the minimum for a 'beater'/ watersports/etc.

I used to wear it almost daily - my 116520 white. Back then, I only have 3 watches, a Kermit, a Baume and Mercier Classima and the 116520 white.
Now I have a lot more in my collection, it is part of the rotation. I also have a OF Paul Newman Dial nowadays, and I won't really wear that daily, its a bit to 'shinny' for a daily watch - I wear it for events. Generally, I think all SS watch can be daily as it doesn't demand too much attention.

I had a 520 as a daily for about 4 years. Goes with jeans or even work attire.

It's a watch, sure, why not. I wore my WG Daytona 116519 for 17 years on a daily basis, never with an issue. Year 17- had it serviced and sold it to get another WG piece. Now I regret selling it.

That is an outstanding record of durability. The 4130 is THE Rolex GOAT movement. I can attest that even my simple workhorse movement in my TT Sub was unnecessarily routinely serviced at its 15 year mark without any unusual wear. I suspect I could have easily gone 20 years without cracking it open as it was keeping good time at the 15 year mark.

You should never wear a Daytona daily, in fact you should never wear it period. It belongs in the original box tucked away in a safe place. In 20 years you can bring it out and sell it for $500 more than you paid the gray market dealer for it.

I think any watch should be a daily. Thats the point right?
Some people happily wear a Cartier tank as a daily. I think we have gone past the days of formalities. I wore a JLC MUT Moon for months on end about 10 years ago, even through summer in shorts and t-shirt. Daytona does happen to be a very good, versatile daily. |

Daytona is next on my list. I would not daily it since I have better watches for that, but I could daily it if I sold all the rest.
