I'm officially guilty now. I now have this GS in black and blue. I've had the black one for a couple years but am currently lacking blue in my collection. Now I have both LOL. I plan to sell the black eventually.

Yes, I have. I have owned the SD43 twice. It was my very first Rolex and I had a tinge of nostalgia when I bought it again. Ultimately, I sold it again because the watch was very uncomfortable to wear. It is probably just the shape of my wrist that is ill-suited to the watch.

I have also owned and still currently own a SS Sky-dweller. My first was a black dial and my second is a blue dial. Both came on oyster bracelets. I sold the black dial in a moment of impulse and have regretted it ever since.

I admit that I was caught up in the hype, chasing the GMTs and Daytonas, only to realise that they weren’t the watch for me after a couple of months of owning them.

That being said, my watch collection has come full circle and I am very happy with what I have now.

Sure. I have done it with the Submariners and most recently with the SS Sky-Dweller. I see no issue in doing it if that is what you want.

Completely agree and I think the GMT is the best watch to do it with. Did you keep changing it for newer models, though? I ask because the one in the photo is at least mid-80s. If I had a 1675 I don't know what could persuade me to move it on.

You're not sick, just a prisoner of Rolex. In the pre-Ceramic days, you could have just gotten a second or third bezel for your GMT to try out colours on the same watch.

The 1675, which I bought in the early 70's began to lose its appeal compared to my (2000) 16710. I just loved the look of the sapphire crystal, that and the Oyster bracelet, the hour marker surrounds....and the quickset addition was a bonus too.

Sacrilege to many here, I know, but the 27 year old acrylic dial and faded bezel, just looked, well, tired.

So, just the two GMT's since the 70's.

I would humbly suggest that a lot of Rolexes are bought, these days, simply for, the 'flex'.
