Both are excellent choices to go with, however i'd pick the blue one, gives the watch a great contrast and a more dynamic experience.

If this was my first luxury watch, I would go with the silver dial. More of a classic look.

Silver all day long. My opinion... I normally wouldn't have thought so until I recently tried it in person (didn't buy, it was used and they were asking 13K...nope). I'd have a hard time deciding between silver and black, actually. Blue would be my third choice, and I do like it.

As someone who chose a blue baton DJ41 over a silver dial, I can tell you that I wish I would have gone silver. As some others have mentioned there is more depth to the silver dial that can't be captured in photos. I am going to be sourcing a silver dial to swap out the blue!

Silver with the smooth bezel and jubilee is a stunning classic combo. Congrats in advance!

First - forget about the price changes because it's minor relative to the overall price.
Now that it's no longer a factor, you can focus on what truly matters to you.

If you're having seconds, it's likely because you want something else a bit more. Perhaps consider the settings in which you're wearing your watch - are you more of a dressed up person or more casual?

I believe silver is more versatile - blue would feel a bit more sporty. Either way, it'll be a great timepiece. Do you plan to get another watch down the road? Will you rotate what you wear? I think these questions will help point you in a direction.

I'd go with your first instinct, Silver.
More versatile, and I think the best dial for the smooth/jubilee configuration.

I went to the AD today (Bucherer) and I saw the watch, the lady was so nice and we talked about a lot of things for nearly half an hour.

She advised me to take a few days to think about it.

I simply told her that I tried the blue one and was hesitating a bit.

Blue and Green are nice but nothing crazy either... she told me that I could swap out the dial for 300 bucks after 5 years, if I wanted to..

I have a white roman Stowa Marine, as my dress watch (that I wear with a suit, I work in finance, 34 yo) and a blue Christopher ward GMT Diver.

I prefer the Datejust over the explorer as it's more vibrant and less dull.

My wirst is 15.5cm so I can't pull of anything else that a 36 oyster ... I will buy A Santos but on the grey market as it's 1.5K less than retail. (so I don't need an AD)

I’m wearing my silver dial DJ36 right now. Yes, it’s monochromatic, but I like that because it’s versatile and flies under the radar. I got mine with a smooth (domed) bezel on an oyster bracelet, so it does work well with pretty much whatever I wear.

The blue dial is stunning. If, however, you saw it in person and it didn’t stir your passions, no worries. These can look much different on our wrists than in photos.

I was not a big fan of the silver dial until I saw it in person. Now, I would not mind one . They have grown on me. They are sharp and look very sleek. I have a few blue dials and love them too. Either or you have to start somewhere and DJ are always in demand, plus you will have done some spend with the AD.

Which ever one you choose you will be happy, The DJ is a legend.

Both are fantastic. I chose blue for the better contrast but, as others have said, silver is a little more versatile.

I like both styles, monochromatic silver and contrasting blue. The former is dressier, quieter and more versatile, the latter is more sporty and out there.

I own a pt dial YM and a TT blue Sub. I appreciate them both, they complement each other well. I started with rhe YM and added the Bluesy later.

I'd pick the DJ silver dial now, wear it, enjoy it, and perhaps add a blue dial piece later on. Swapping the dial is of course another option.
