How is that a bait-and-switch?

It's not an actual bait and switch, but that's immaterial.

The fact that they wouldn't discuss their price structure over the phone would have been enough for me.

Offering a base price along with a caveat about unknown issues should have been no problem.

I can see that the OP is not complaining about the work done by the San Francisco facility, but really their customer service.

The situation that psv reports sounds like a gillion complaints on an Invicta forum.

They may do wonderful work, I don't know, but my position would be that if they won't treat me the customer with respect, how will they treat my watch?

Better?

I wouldn't bet on it, personally.

Traveler's avatar should give you a clue.

Traveler's often right on the mark, despite his visage, but this time, I disagree.

I understand your complaint.

Someone recently recommended me Giovanni at this former RSC service center. Anyone here had dealt with them recently?

I was looking at the first page with the prices for servicing and It suddenly hit me. 9 year old thread! If only prices were still like that! Good luck with your service. And, no, in answer to your question...

Welcome to the new normal of jacking up prices to compensate for a 3 month closure.

I don't believe the San Francisco operation is a Rolex Service Center.

This is a 9 year old thread that was resurrected today. Maybe the mods can close it out before this one gets out of hand.

Giovanni and his staff do good work, Ive had a few things done with them.

They used to be the SF RSC, but now they are independent.

I second the other response.

Giovanni is alive and well, and doing good service.
