Sorry, just saw this. No, a new model release is expected.

So is the 42mm regular production happening? Few here have said with a lot of confidence from their AD sources that was the case. In 2023… tick tock..

Guilty as charged. I was told by the BP boutique what I wanted to hear. Before the end of the year a regular edition 42 mm FF. Introduction will be probably when hell freezes over.

Does anyone know the width of the buckle? Is this 21.5mm as well?

Yes, the buckle width is 21.5 mm, just measured to be sure.

Thank you very much for doing that! I just purchased a 70th anniversary (no “incoming” post just yet!) and having a custom strap made. Do you think it will look odd if I reuse the 21.5mm buckle on a sail cloth (ie. The strap width will be uniform).
Not sure if Blancpain makes a 20mm polished “fifthy fathoms” buckle.

You are welcome. Congratulations for your Blancpain 70th Anniversary Act 1 watch. The look (sail cloth on Act 1) only depends on what YOU like.

Normally wearing the Blancpain stainless steel X-71 bracelet on my No Rad, I was sceptical about the NATO on my Act 1 but it is very comfortable and I completely changed opinion.

I don't know about a 20 mm polished Fifty Fathoms buckle. Anyhow, I recommend to keep your new Act 1 on the delivered NATO.

Thank you! I’ve worn it a few times on the NATO and it’s very comfortable, especially given its size. I bought an Artem sail cloth and not impressed — very shiny, ‘plastic-y,’ thick and stiff. By comparison, I also have a Mil-Spec (Hodinkee) and ordered the Blancpain sail cloth. Much better and much different than the Artem. I am having a custom sail cloth made from Drwatchatrap. We’ll see how that compares. More to follow.

Oddly enough, I thought the 70th Anniversary would wear smaller with the sail cloth but I don’t feel it does. The NATO ‘cinches’ the watch down and the fit (and balance on the wrist) feels much better.

Blancpain now apparently makes 21.5mm sailcloth straps with a matching 20mm pin buckle. That’s the way to go.

I’ll be visiting the London bond street boutique in the next couple of weeks so will refer back.

Not my way to go, but yes, Blancpain sells an original sail cloth with the Fifty Fathoms buckle for the Act 1, some photos here.
