Official vacheron overseas thread!!

Here’s my blue recently acquired. I have owned Patek (4) AP (3 including a jumbo perpetual) and A Lange, it is my first VC.

Over the years I have developed certain criteria and tendencies. I live in a very hot climate so that rules out crocodile or leather straps. I get tired of changing these very expensive things every six months. While I have had almost every complication under the sun The expense on maintaining them outweighs their usefulness for most of the time.

This thing really ticks a lot of boxes. Easily interchangeable straps system, 150 m water resistance and the Geneva Steel. It is not a petite watch (I have a 19 cm wrist) it is certainly not big or bulky. Very appropriate for the time.

There is actually quite a shortage of these right now. Maybe VC finally caught on and started limiting supply but if you go out and look for them there are almost none anywhere.

While it is designed to compete with the Royal Oak and Nautilus, these watches feel delicate in comparison. I think it is the haute horological Rolex Datejust 41.

beautiful. I really love the blue, and have always been a fan of the maltese cross integrates into the bracelet. if one was considering an Overseas, but lived nowhere near a boutique...

how would you go about it?

Like all high-end steel watches, especially with the blue face, these are becoming quite difficult to acquire.

I happened to know that the boutique in Miami has one of these in stock but it is at full retail. Truthfully, most greys are charging over retail for this time piece.

As a perspective, the new 15500 AP almost doubles in value the minute you buy it and let’s not even talk about the Nautilis. Ridiculous.

The blue, although not as elusive as the blue AP, is getting a little more difficult to find. ADs can always get it for you and the wait will not be as long as the AP. I see the black and silver every now and then, but rarely the blue. Maybe you can try the trusted sellers? Or I would call some ADs and check if they can ship.

I was curious for some thoughts on a deal I have on a new VC Overseas with Blue dial. I can get it for $14,700 cash (out the door) Is this considered a good deal? I know some on this forum only care about the long term value of a watch but at this price am I closer to the point where I am not just throwing money away? I know buying a watch is not a investment and I am not looking for it to be. I love the watch but just want to make sure I am getting a decent deal. Thanks for any advice.

"$14,700" is really a great deal. This 3rd gen. Overseas is becoming increasingly popular now. Is the watch from an AD?

I would jump on it at $14.7k -- that's a hefty discount for the most popular color.

+1. Great discount. By all accounts the gen3 overseas is doing very well for VC, so good discounts are harder to come by.

That is an unbelievable discount. Best I have been able to find is about half of that. Have waffled for awhile on the blue/black but would immediately pull the trigger at that price!

I am primarily a lurker on these forums (and prob haven’t posted for a year) but just had to come out hiding to comment.

Has anyone tried on the 37mm Overseas? Looks like it might be a better fit for smaller wrists, but not sure about the second hand at 9 o'clock...

I have tried it on multiple times. It fits great on my 6.5 inch wrist. Love that it does not have a date. Initially I was not sure about the second hand being at 9 o'clock. Now, I actually enjoy the quirkiness of it. Am giving serious consideration for it being my next VC.

Considering VC Overseas.
How does it compares with AP 15400 ,for example, in time and money?
Or the Overseas Chrono vs AP 26321? Just to give me some perspective on Coustomer service after sell.Thank you.

One data point, but the service was incredible. Warranty issue that required a full service. Turned around the full service and fix in 7 days. Not exaggerating. 7 days.

This was at one of the two boutiques in Singapore. They had their own Vacheron watchmaker there.

I have really been contemplating trading my gen2 overseas chrono for the new overseas 4500 (blue?). What do you all think? Am I crazy or smart move. I have been reading random threads about overseas creeping up in price. Is this true, is it the gen3’s? I haven’t seen much of a difference when I look. Thanks.
