I was surprised at the value initially. The H11 was around $31k in steel a couple of years ago, which is a steal imho for a single watchmaker building you a watch without the use of CNC. However, seems he raised his prices and now his cheapest watch is $55k….which is a harder pill to swallow given what else that price range can yield.

There's a live shot on watchprosite that gives a less flattering, maybe more real look at it. It's good for the price for sure.

If you are not looking at Lang & Heyne, you are missing out

L & H is on par with anything super high end but for a fraction of the price.

I love that watches are in right now and there is so much going on with independents.
Too bad though that many come along with a hefty price tag.
Can you imagine if we were all just chasing the "usual" brands, puke

And so do Voutilainen and almost all the others. Even RW Smith has quite some watchmakers working for him.

All great watches but isn't it even better when the watch you get is the watch made by the man who's name is on the dial ?

This is why I love Florent Lecomte, Pascal Coyon, Chritian Lass.

So I would like to see more go these in this thread instead of the Parmiginani, Journe, Voutilainen, Grossman, Czapek, Greubel, Forsey ...
They are independent because the do not belong to a big group ... but they are so different from these individuals.

Maybe we need another name than 'independent'

How do the call the ultra small brands where the watchmaker himself makes YOUR watch.
great point. I took my first leaps away from the usual suspects with my GS, ALS, and Moser. I have yet to venture further out but I am very interested

Given this level of excellence and performance standards, the price of the Calibre Chronomètre 19 is well above that of the Calibre Chronomètre 1900. The prices are 30,500 euros excluding VAT for the versions in white or pink gold and 39,500 euros without tax in platinum. Of course, these prices are revised if specific requests are made like an enamel dial. When I discovered the watches and the 19 calibre, I had no doubt about the relevance of this price level. The watches are perfectly crafted and animated by an exceptional calibre that I consider one of the most beautiful hand-wound movements available today.

Makes zero sense given his new watch is less than that and objectively better.

Interested in seeing the next MAD creation from Max Busser next year. Along that line are there any other indie watchmakers that are re-tooling how time can be displayed? MB&F, Urwerk are of course the high-end spectrum, anything more mid tier?

Does anybody have ownership experience with a Haldimann? Really like the new H12 steel.
How to buy them? Just drop him an email?

This is turning out to be an expensive thread for me.

I've been in touch with Pascal Coyon and he has been very nice to work with.

I'm strongly considering a h12 myself. I'll say this, not very responsive via email.

Yes, there are actually three. Haldimann for the flying resonance.

That's pretty reasonable considering the amount of work put in. His watches are sensational.

I've been keeping an eye on Atelier de Chronométre in Barcelona. Seem to be really stretching themselves constantly, and producing absolutely gorgeous and unusual watches.

You have to subscribe to his aesthetics, which I don’t really do, but if so, there’s no arguing with the quality Phillipe Narbel will give you. If you want hand made, that’s hand made. And he’s a lovely person too, from what little interaction I’ve had with him.
