Thank you! Unfortunately there is no chance my fiancée would let me near the Daytona, she loves it and uses it all the time!

I really never cared for the OF before and a bracelet was always the #1 choice for me. However, over time the OF has really grown on me and I really like the look. I vote for that one. Plus, the ceramic bezel in black really makes it stand out, and the black OF just compliments the look. I really like that exact model in Everose gold and that is my grail watch.

The full YG definitely looks good, but a bit too much gold imho . I think a black ceramic bezel would have really offset the look, or maybe even another color of dial? In the end, you really should get whichever one you like more though and the one that stirs your emotions most!

Ceramic is a more luxurious material than gold in wristwatches. It is much more costly to develop and produce ceramic parts. That's why a full-ceramic AP RO is much more expensive than a full-gold AP RO.
More luxurious than gold? Sure it is...utilitarian perhaps but luxurious? Surely you jest.

Is it possible to buy the bracelet version and then get oysterflex fitted on it? (Best of both worlds)

Oysterflex with the ceramic bezel would be my choice.

I just bought this one and can't be happier. I don't like the non-ceramic bezels anymore.

I am shocked that the gold bracelet Daytona doesn't have the larger symmetric lug case. I thought all PM Daytonas did. But I am sure if people say it, it is true.

I think the YG is a more formal look than the WG, and so the bracelet version looks better to me. YG Daytona with OF looks a little mismatched, albeit still nice. From a "value" perspective, it's hard to argue with a modest $3,000 up-charge to get a solid gold bracelet vs. OF.

Just one man's opinion.

Thanks everyone for your inputs. I ended up getting the Oysterflex. Yeah it’s better bang for bucks getting the bracelet one. However had I done it I would probably have tucked a rubber B strap and keep the bracelet in the drawer.

The best part of the 116518LN is the BEZEL. Nothing beats the contrast of the black subdials, black bezel and black oysterflex bracelet against the warm yellow gold.

Sourcing an oysterflex strap for the 116508 would not replicate this look and would frankly just look weird.

I’d definitely go for the 116518.

Considering the $3K delta, I'd go for the bracelet. If the difference was greater, I'd go for Oysterflex. Hard to beat in person and really sharp on the wrist. I love how unique it is on the OF.

Not to mention the 116508 has only been out a couple of years anyway, I don’t think they are changing that watch for a long time, and definitely not putting a ceramic bezel on it, that would be crazy.

And trust me, compared to AP Royal Oak and Patek Nautilus, and especially AP Offshore, the Daytona bezel is practically bullet proof / unscratchable!

When it came time to create the Daytona in PT, they chose ceramic over a PT bezel so why not for the gold bracelet models?

Huge Congratulations I was in the same situation only with WG, and I also went with the OF. No regrets here.

I don’t think that looks good, the ceramic bezel suits the white metal models well, but definitely not convinced on the yellow gold.
