I have both and enjoy them both. One can’t replace the other.

They’re actually very different watches. Sure, both tell time in two timezones. But that’s about the only similarity.

I think the CHNR is one of the best looking watches Rolex manufactures (only beaten by the YM42), but I would buy the BLNR - only because I don't 'do' gold.

Hi Vance, they're both great looking watches. But I would think having two of them is unnecessary unless one is tracking several timezones. I would pick the 126711CHNR for its warm and welcoming appearance. Go with whatever makes you happy.

damn. I am thinking of getting a full rose gold GMT, too. haha.

I have Batman as a daily wear. I love the looks and functionality of the GMT. I am thinking of getting a PM GMT as a fun weekend watch, to spice up my collection.

only question is - should I get a GMT in gold or Daytona in gold. both are very pleasing to look at

Try them on because the Daytona wears very different than a GMT.

I've asked myself the same question at times. I've got both the CHNR and the BLRO and although they're both GMTs, they're VERY different watches. I've been contemplating trading up from the CHNR to the full everose GMT II but I'm enjoying the two-tone for the time being.

Is "both" a reasonable response? :)

My first PM piece was the white gold Daytona on Oysterflex. As much as I love that watch, the complication is one that I hardly use, and the WG "blends in" to the point that it looks like SS to those who aren't in the game.

When I decided to get something in Rose Gold, I wanted it to be a statement piece, not only in looks and presence, but in what it said about me. I'm a GMT guy through and through. I travel a lot and I work with teams spread across multiple time zones -- the complication just works. So choosing another GMT was a no brainer.

That said, if you're not looking for a specific functionality or complication and are just focused on the aesthetic value, you may find that an all gold Daytona is a better complement to your GMT. If so, I'd go yellow gold with green dial; that piece just pops!

haha, not rich enough to splurge on two full PM Rolex'es.

But man, the White gold Daytona is a stunner. I admit I won't likely use Chrono function much, even if I get the Daytona.

White Gold Daytona + Rose gold GMT would be a killer combo. some of the most beautiful watches out there IMO.

congrats on having some very fine watches. You have a good taste.

Had and loved them both. They are the same watch, yet very different and could easily coexist in a collection.

I let each go for varying reasons, but if I had both today, I'd keep them.

Congrats on a great pair!

For me, out of those two it’s the CHNR.

I don't think it's overkill at all because they are different enough. Between those two it should be easy to match whatever is in your wardrobe. The Jubilee might be more dressy but the CHNR is the one that catches my eye from a few feet away. The BLNR (for me) looks like it could be a sub or a black GMT at a quick glance.

I agree. In evening light the blue is not noticable at all. It looks like a sub with a jubilee - which is exactly what I was looking for. I considered a sub when I was looking, knowing they are iconic and I already owned a GMT, but after seeing the BLNR in person I know I had to have one.

Over lunch this weekend, my wife nods to the guy at the corner table and says that he’s got a very good looking watch on his wrist. Asks me what it was and I should consider getting one. So I say to her, “honey, it’s the rootbeer and I was wearing it yesterday”. We both had a laugh, but to your point, the CHNR is a stunner from a distance (and up close as well of course).

If I were you I'd keep them both and rock based on attire color! To me, CHNR kills with earth tones and the BLNR throws a powerful pop to monochromatic looks. I hope you get to travel with both after the world becomes accessible again haha

That’s funny. I would have played along and asked my AD to pull out an Everrose DD40 and then ask my wife if it’s OK to get it.

My best impression of my CHNR was when I was having dinner with friends in Japan and someone at the table had a black 16520 Daytona. She commented on my CHNR so I said “I’ll trade ya!” And we switched watches and from the other side of the table my CHNR was really good looking.
