It's nice. But I'm glad I got my non-ceramic LV when I did!

Wow, lots of negative attention for this watch. I actually like it. It may be my first Rolex purchase.

I feel like i would like this watch better in person but im not a fan of the crown guards, makes the watch look more rugged and durable but i have never liked that look. Overall though it is a beautiful watch, i heard it looks "bigger" but obviously its still a 40mm....i would like to see it in person..

does anyone know what the other side of the glide lock looks like?
meaning: does it still look like the submariner clasp on the other side or does it look like the glidelock on the 18k gold submariners?

Any news on what the release date is going to be on this watch? I really like the new LV and would like to see one in person in a shop.

Is it just me or does the beefier case make the band look to skinny?
I wish they would have gone to a 22mm lug width with corresponding bracelet that tapers to 20mm.

I guess I have to see it in person but these hi-res pics aren't doing it for me. The green dial seems a bit over-the-top and I'm not a fan of the ceramic bezels (even though I have the DSSD). I definitely like the less shiny satin finish green bezel on my LV. I wonder if I can retrofit the new glidelock bracelet on to my LV - now that would awesome!

I kinda like that "nickname" for the 116610LV "HULKSUB"

Great thread Larry

Re above: The color of the green dial comes from blending yellow gold powder with aluminum powder.

At first I was determined "NOT" to like the new 116610 LV. I have an early 16610LV, a 14060 and a red 1680... I love the classic Sub... How could I possibly appreciate this new "thing???"

But as of late I must admit the new 116610LV is growing on me. I can see this watch joining my collection. Yes it is blocky, but not as much as my DSSD; and it has the glidelock, I absolutely love the comfort of the glidelock.

Dear Alex {Droog}, The jury is out..... this new watch could do my gulliver in. But Ludwig van might help me out artistically.

I think it's stunning. Almost enough so to distract me from my quest of obtaining a GMT Master II as my first Rolex acquisition

I just saw the new ceramic Sub in July/August 2010 Departures magazine
in Green / Green dial - list price $7,725. That's quite a jump from $6,400
list for the LV Green/Black combination but there are lots of upgrades on it.

I think it will be tough to like at first & then grow me over some time like
the SS/plat Yachmaster did ~ back to saving for a new watch!

I don't mind the green dial so much, but I just can't get past the super case. I think the profile and the proportions of the previous line is perfect...a classic!
Plus, I always prefer Matte finishes and so I don't care for the high shine on the ceramic bezel inserts.

GMT has one green dial black bezel in all yellow gold. It just looks gorgeous.

Pictures are indeed very nice. Dubai dealer Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons did not have the model as late as 17th Sept.2010. I was informed that the model is expected to hit Dubai show rooms around October 2010. I just love it. Look forward to own it in the not too distant future.

I have seen the watch at South Coast Plaza, Baron and Leeds. The green is muted and looks rich. It definitely looks better in person; I just happen to gravitate more towards the precious metals than SS, but still a beautiful watch.
