I prefer black as a one and only. The LV is beautiful but I see it as part of a collection YMMV

I have them both. The green definitely adds color, but I have found it's subtle enough on the wrist that I can wear it with a suit and not feel too flashy or weirdly contrasting colors, and of course it's perfect for casual attire. It goes just fine with a blue, grey, or black suit. I wear them both often and don't feel I "need" to keep one over the other.

OP, I don't subscribe to the perspective that if you’re only going to have one [Rolex?], between the LV and LN sub it has to be the LN.

The LN is versatile, ubiquitous, timeless. It’s an icon, but also rather basic. Some really appreciate that in the LN.

Do you like green? LV sub could very well be an only Rolex, doesn’t need to be part of a collection of Rolex. And if you had concerns around not having a black dialed Rolex/diver, there are lower cost alternatives you could consider to supplement/compliment the LV (Seiko, Tudor, etc).

Either way, I’m sure you’ll be happy. Good luck!

Black Sub was my first Rolex. Enjoyed it so much as my collection grew gave it to my wife who rocks it on an orange RubberB strap.
LV is my new daily. The contrast between bezel and dial just works. Rolex nailed it. 41mm is perfect on LV compared to my 7 year old 40mm Black Sub.

It depends on what you really like and the one you bond with the more, but for me Starbucks will be more fun as it pops better.

The LV is special. Keep it.

Add a monochrome BB for the days you feel like the green clashes and need something more neutral.

Less common and a little spice of color will make me lean towards the LV.

I’ve got a 16610LN but since I purchased my 126610LV almost two years ago, if I wear a Sub, I only wear my LV. It is my favourite daily watch by far. I do love my MKI Starbucks MKII is not my cup of tea), way over my 16610LV.

Even though, I would never buy/trade this 16610LN due to its huge sentimental value, despite my wrist time is divided essentially between my Sturbucks and Pepsi.

But, you know, this is just a question of particular taste. A 126610LV fits with everything and every occasion. Try to keep both watches unless you trade one of them for something different.

Detach from the hype and FOMO…

You have to decide what you like best, but for me I think Cerachrom is best in black, while anodized aluminum (like on the 16610LV) is best in color.

Your favorite color is the one that you enjoy the most.
LV green does not “pop” more than anything else. LV green it’s not more exciting than black. Once you’ve had it a few months, It becomes the same.
I have orange watches which at one time were, THE most exciting watches I owned, but they eventually evoked similar feelings as my black watches.

Thank you all. Most probably I will go with the Green MK2 simply for the reason it’s less common and has a bit more pop than the black sub. I was abit concerned if the Mk2 is more sporty than black sub and that it might look out of place in an office environment, but seems that’s not the case?

Wish I could keep both of them, but finance is an issue

Black is more classic but as a one and only every day would be way too boring for me. That is its strength and curse. LV is a better everyday as it has a pop of color but it’s black dial keeps it toned down enough.

I own the LV in MKII and love it. It could definitely serve as your daily watch. People worry the green doesn’t go with everything but in my opinion it looks great with everything I wear. Never considered the possibility of owning/wearing only 1 watch, but if I was a one watch guy, I’d agree that the Black Sub checks all the boxes.

LV for me! As others have said, LN is ubiquitous, and a splash of color is always nice. You can ALWAYS buy a black sub down the road from an AD or grey market dealer.

Either:

1. Sell the LV and get a Hulk / Kermit so its really different to the Black Sub; or
2. Sell the Black Sub and get a BB58 / BB and have some extra $ in your pocket.

But if you want to sell one, I would sell the Black Sub. The green still goes well in all suits or jeans.

I don't have a starbucks, but I have the Black Sub, the Kermit and the BB58. I was thinking of selling the BB58, but knowing I will loss a lot from selling, so I keep as a day-to-day work watch, which is low-key and still looks great on the wrist.

I actually have sold the Pelagos 39, as it is way too similar to the Black Sub, and I don't like the titanium colour on the dial and bracelet.
