Hey Andreas....you are probably right mate....I just know mine still glows enough for me to read it.....that's cool....hope it lasts a bit longer!!!....wish they could "do it all again" 'cause Tritium was brilliant when it was new.....

This is getting better and good conversation.
Seller states Circa 1960 and original untouched dial. The date on the case back is 1960 as well. That is 50 years old. Let’s say that the dial was painted with fresh tritium in 1960. That makes the tritium 50 years old. Using 12 years as half life of tritium.. 50/12 is about 4 half lives. That puts the active unstable material of the tritium about 6%. I highly doubt that will make visible to the human eye. |

I have a 1984 DD in YG.....obviously this has a Tritium dial and handset.....the hands are only just visible in the dark.....the dial markers are invisible......I would be very very surprised if a 1960 Tritium dial still glowed at all......but then I have been wrong before.....

I just loved that Tritium when it was new......blew the socks off Superluminova....wish they could manage that long lasting glow again somehow

I'm not buying the seller's hype on this watch. It is a newer dial on what appears to be a 70's vintage watch. Dials do not glow from the 70's. Also, it always amazes me when they have the original box but all the accessories are missing. It is also wearing a vintage band, model 7206.
