For me, I’d say the sub. Gives you size and style diversity.

I´d definitely keep the Sub, especially as it's a no-date model...

And what do you base that opinion on?

Mine is my first and my favorite Rolex and it's very precise, after 14 years and one full service.

Looking at the fit of the DJ, I’d say keep the Explorer. I think your Sub may wear large on your wrist. 36mm seems to fit you perfectly.

Congratulations on the DJ, it’s very nice watch!

I'm going to assume that the quoted post was a reference to the current vs. previous Sub ND. Alas, both the Explorer and Sub have versions beginning "114" and "124" so it's difficult to tell for certain.

I think that you'll find far more people who have a strong Sub preference vs. a strong Explorer preference (within the realm of 36mm models). My preference for current Explorer is there, but I think the previous 36 is great .

And while I might not call the previous Sub "terrible" it's way too blocky with its thick lugs, so perhaps I'm just seeing a statement I tend to agree with.

In your situation, I'd keep the Sub (I love the Exp as well). Great pair.

The parenthetical comment comes after the term "Explorer," but I guess one could draw the conclusion that it is the Sub that's being referenced. Neither the 114270 nor the 114060 are terrible watches.

They both share the 3130 movement, so any assertion that either is a terrible watches needs some clarification.

I'm not a fan of the super cases either, or whatever they were called.

As much as I love the Exp, that's the one to go, I would also invest in a new cell phone with nicer camera.

True. However I took that as a poorly structured sentence where the parenthetical refers to the following comment, about keeping the Sub. If the Sub is to be kept regardless, why qualify the Explorer preference?

I'd keep the Sub, if only because the Explorer and the DJ are both 36mm

I love the 36mm Explorer, but it’s too close to the DJ to keep both, so this choice is easy for me: keep the Sub to pair with the DJ.

Agreed with this. I've often considered adding a 36mm DJ (maybe two tone with a white dial) to pair with my two 36mm Explorers.
