To the OP, the availability of the Explorer is not high. It’s a sport model and those are highly sought after. Probably a bit more available than a Submariner.
The BB58 is a great choice…as is the Explorer. |

Nice gesture, OP. After my dad retired, he found a date feature quite helpful since the days tend to run together when you no longer have to adhere to a work schedule.
As others have said, I would go with the DJ. If he wears it daily, setting the date should not be needed too often. It also sounds like you spend time with him frequently, so you could check the date and reset for him as necessary. Good chance to stay connected with him and the watch! |
