This doesn’t help the OP, but I’m curious. If they replace everything is it the same watch?
And would they replace it with parts from a present day Air King? Like the new black and green dial, etc. I really don’t know these things.

It is an interesting philosophical question.

Makes for an interesting discussion.

They dont change dials anymore, but in the past they have done for me when asked. Times have changed.

The more I think about it, the more I wonder: If one were to source a completely non-functioning, but 100% original, Rolex, would RSC essentially build them a new watch when sent for service?

If one wanted a NOS four or five-digit AK, this actually sounds like a decent deal .

If it were me I would put it in the display case and use the overhaul money for a new watch.

That’s exactly what hat they would do, but only if it has nothing third party about it. I’ve done it before, but nowadays you can’t find something that isn’t working.

And the price would be the same be it completely non functional or 90% fine like this one in question.

I'm thinking about completely non-functional, basically in an attempt to get Rolex to build me a "brand new" five-digit watch. Of course we'd be talking something without any sentimental value, which obviously makes things easier.
