Well most Rolex watches sold are SS which is one of the toughest material known to man.So they don't need any special brushes, just plain old soap and water, rinse well pat dry after with any clean cotton type cloth.

I have both stainless and a pm watch so I'm going to try something softer on the pm. I don't daily mine so I will clean less often.

Brush in post 2 has never scratched a gold PCL in 3 years of use.

Another shower cleaner here, never done anything else.

To me, a brush that’s too soft won’t clean enough. Feel like a boars hair or makeup brush would be too soft. On the contrary, a brush too hard can….scratch. Up to you.

Personally I use a (firm rated) toothbrush paired with a microfiber cloth. I may be a little paranoid, but I wouldn’t trust a full hard bristle brush. Especially on gold.

I use an old toothbrush of mine with dishsoap. Works perfectly, also on my GMT Meteorite which is white gold. No additional scratches after cleaning.
