I want the LeMans badly but they just aren’t out there. Big dealers have gotten almost none.

Lemans or Platona?? Which one would you choose

LeMans is almost Tiffany Blue Nautilus status. It’s not something just anyone can buy. The Platona is a really nice and exclusive watch (there are a limited number of people who can afford one!) but not at that same level of ultra exclusive rarity.

If we are talking real world, and for people who aren’t famous celebrities, I don’t feel like the LeMans is worth $600k+. That’s what you need to invest to realistically get one at retail, based on the acquisition stories I’ve confirmed.

That aside, even if both were the same, I’d probably pick the LeMans just because I think it’s more wearable/a bit lighter. I also like the design.

So, is it a Daytona (Florida, USA), or a Le Mans (France)??
That name makes no sense...

The Rolex Daytona was originally going to be called Le Mans.

Lemans - I prefer the colour scheme. Plat colours are nice, but not my style.

It takes a very special watch to be chosen over platinum, DD or Daytona. LeMans is that.

This.

However, since neither are readily obtainable at retail, I ain't payin' the market rate for either.

Although honestly, I wouldn't buy one at MSRP either. That's just crazy money for a watch.

Platona. Lemans looks like the new 126519 just with a bracelet, additional red text, and $150k extra.

So just get the Platona and a 126519 :p

I would bet you would already have to have Platona to ever get a chance for a Le Mans so you probably won’t have to choose.

Lots of black chronos available. If we are talking a watch to keep and wear forever...

Platona for me.

Certainly personal choice, and no wrong answer. I’m a bit biased, and ultimately I’d like to have both, but I choose the PT in an either/or situation.
The ice blue PT dial is gorgeous, I happen to love the brown/blue combo, and that dial/bezel is the PT Daytona, no question or mistaking it when you see it.
I realize the dial/bezel/bracelet combo on the LM is also a one and only, but it is very close, or looks pretty similar to other black dial Daytonas.
