Sounds like a rant from a "non-polisher" with little on the proof/fact side that the bracelet was "ruined".

Most would prefer a refinished bracelet over a thrashed 10 year old version, or would at least consider it an improvement. They cannot be returned to as-new, but the RSC usually comes pretty close.

It's like the cleaners trying to take out a stubborn stain and being unable to, then being told that they ruined it.

I have had a few watches polished by RSC over the last few years. Only one watch was perhaps over-polished (40mm Explorer II), and that was due to a deep scratch on one of the lugs. I guess, the tech decided to make the other three lugs symmetrical as well. That was the right call to make by the tech.

I can't tell the difference between being too polished or slightly polished as I have become less picky over time and where I am in my collection journey.

Until pics presented I rate this a grade 1 DQ (drama queen). No offense to those heavy into theatrics or any actual queens present. Photos can reverse this ruling.

RSC Geneva serviced & polished my 16600 and 116520 last year. They looked both like brand new, amazing results.

I was not happy with the polishing that RSC did to my bezel. This was completely ridiculous to round out all of the edges. Prior to service the bezel was sharp.

I think you're only really safe getting a watch polished from someone that specializes in it- like rolliworks or LAWW. That's the only place I would feel comfortable having a watch polished. Full disclosure, I've never had a watch serviced by the RSC.

Agree 100% especially if it's an older piece. LAWW rebuilt a 93150 bracelet that literally was like new after it had a stretch that was unbelievable - costs money but they know what their doing and if they ever had a question as to "do it or not" they'd call. Now, that being said I've had RSC do a couple touch ups before and never had issue. I would be cautious if there were deep gauges or things that would require a lot of metal polished off.
