Thanks everyone - I'm humbled by your amazing feedback
Lol, thanks for the reminder. Last year same deal - I forgot & a half-year later, figured it was "too late". But not this time - I just sent in my pledge. It is a pretty awesome reference, isn't it Quote:
Both awesome references I love my SD43 but have no intentions of parting with my 16600 I'd love to see you and the other SD43 owners post their favorite wristshot* here please *Speaking of which, I like this one I took at the beginning of the month; I usually try to avoid getting the smartphone's reflection but in this case, I used it to block the direct sunlight, just to get "a good look" at the date window...

Great review !
This here is my first contribution to Rolex Forums. I had just bought the 126600, after looking for 116600 for months. The same reasons mentioned, 43mm growth and the cyclops swayed me away from it. I really wanted a modern Rolex dive watch, but hated the bulky lugs on the Submariner. So, SD4K was my target. But when I saw SD50 in front of me, I had to take it and give it a shot with the bigger size. Superb quality, easy to read, sturdy like nothing else. But, I wasnt so convinced by the size, to big on my wrist, and the ceramic bezel was wider thus giving it more surface area to shine and sparkle. Something I try to avoid (not that there’s anything wrong with that). But that only cemented my love for modern Rolex watches and their quality, and now I’m trying to sell my SD50 to get my hands on a SD4K. The red “SEA DWELLER” on the dial..? Oh dear god it’s just fantastic to look at. |

Man your review is better than anything I've read in a magazine. And your photos are utterly amazing. If I were near you I'd lend you my D-Blue to review and test just so you can post photos such as these.
Keep up the great work and thanks for posting this. |

^Guys, many thanks for your most kind words
I tried to quote a few of you but my session / Browser (Firefox) isn't playing ball right now... @hhtwaijri - good luck with your search @Rashid.bk / GK- the fact is photography is just a hobby of mine and despite the many photographs I've taken of my watches, there is still a lot of trial & error going on. A "photo shoot" usually takes 2 sessions (~4hrs per shoot) and after I'm done, there's a lot of work still left with post-processing. I don't care how carefully I clean the watches, there is always dust to remove, etc. In the end, more a case of rolling up the sleeves than skill Thanks everyone and TGIF

Many thanks to Rolex for rewarding us first buyers. We've been treated to a one year production run mk1 dial... This is like winning the lottery. Mark my words.

SD50 Review
Nice review and very nice pictures. I have owned four Seadwellers since 1983 and still own the last two iterations. I was a commercial diver in the 1970's and 1980's and have always had a fond spot for the Seadweller.
I love the new SD50 and believe it is the best of the Rolex diving watches. The cyclops was a surprise, but as I am not getting any younger I have grown to like it. A little over a year ago my Wife and I moved to Hawaii and I Dive, Snorkel and swim in the ocean on a regular basis both for fun and at work; five dives in the last week at work. I don't always wear the SD50 but enjoy wearing it mostly for recreational diving. I have owned about four Submariners and the DSSD as well, but none fit the bill for me like this new SD50. |
