You can get a discount and avoid tax if you buy from an out of state AD and have it shipped. I did.

the OP is in Sweden. I think the "out of state" comment does not apply here.

I could not get any discount on my Sub-C. Got about 14% on the lady date adjust with diamonds that i bought at the same time though.

European ADs are more flexible and willing to work with you. Go for a 15-20% off on the total for both watches.

Face it, the economy is soft and sales likely reflect this. The re4ality of the situation is that without selling watches, retailers cannot make any profit.

Think about it, the main reason that trusted sellers here (and elsewhere) have BNIB watches purchased from Ads is that Ads can't move thier target of merchanidise and this "outlet' of sorts keeps everything moving.

I believe it was Benjamin Franklin who said, "Watch your pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves." I'm willing to spend some effoert to save $500 or $1,000 - maybe more.

I don't understand why people say that AD's aren't cutting the SS sport model's. I just paid less than $7k out the door for a brand new random serial Sub-C in NJ. I had the "watch" shipped back to AL. I think people just have it in their head that AD's aren't going to give good discounts. FYI, I had no previous relationship with the AD I got my watch from. I did run into a few AD's that only wanted to give me $300-$600 off but keep calling and you will find a deal. I was going to buy from on of the trusted sellers here but I was seeing the Sub-C's going for $7200ish on here.

Ergo no such thing as an "average" or "expected" discount.

Most discount stories on popular stainless steel watches are fish stories...IMO.
They aren't fish stories in Canada. But that is likely due to our strong dollar and high msrp's.

Discount has been controlled. No more than 10% if I remember correctly. It seems like it is still relax in the states.. Maybe I should buy from overseas.
Yes even now! But he said after next month the big discounts are over.

I can tell you mine isn't a fish story. $8100 list price before tax for 116710 in canada. My father paid $6800 AFTER tax for it.
My 116713 was $12,000 list price before tax. I paid $10,000 AFTER TAX

this will be the final discount of this level due to the lock down from Rolex, I was lucky at the right time. I know the AD very very well.

I got a 116200 for $5100 shipped from ny to nj to save tax and 0% financing for 12 months..I believe the msrp was $5900 when I got it.. I shopped for a few weeks to try and find a deal and most dealers did not want to do 10% but u look and you will find..
A lot of dealers told me there where ad's being shut down for discounting..

Great example I had one trusted seller here offer me $1k less than another one. Went to AD and they beat both--so yes it's worth it. O
x 2

why would i want to pay more for something, regardless if i could afford it.

Kemal,
Don't expect that much of a discount now when the CHF is this high.
I would guess 5% on the Sub and 10-15% on the Daytona.
