Because of the hype and increased attention in the last 5 years, I actually feel that most all plain Royal Oak and Nautilus desires to be uninteresting and redundant. If that person is a self-professed genta fan, that is a deep rabbit hole. Regurgitating the basics to convince yourself to buy lower priced Nautilus and Royal Oaks is not that interesting.

But this person is going to go back to Rolex no matter what. In the coming years, almost everything will take a bath as compared to Rolex. I think they’ll also venture into preowned to avoid baths.

No way would I make that trade, would rather have a GP beater than OP at the same price point. To me, it seems like you are too nervous about depreciation and scratching a “nicer” watch, but by trading for an OP you instantly throw away the additional value (real or perceived) and it’s another Oyster variant that will match what you already have. Use the GP to its potential and stop worrying about it.

Personally I don't like the Laureato that much. I have tried it couple of times and was left unimpressed (Italian car equivalent or not, it just didnt do anything for me).

OP green, however, I really like despite it simplicity. It comes together really well and that green is superb. But I prefer 41 over 36.
