The 1908 doesn´t seem to get much love here (yet!), but I love it! A really gorgeous watch, you´re very lucky. Do enjoy wearing it!

Thanks everyone, I appreciate the great feedback.

I'm glad to be able to share this happiness with all of you.
It can be tough to get the watch on our wishlist....;)

To my eye, this is a better choice than the Calatrava or Patrimony in a dress watch.

Sports watch - Rolex
Dress watch - Patek

Instead of the 1908 one can get an iconic Patek 6119 for the same price. This is also nice but the Patek 6119 is in a different league, I think.

I believe the same. The Rolex is in a different league than the Patek.
The movement has the most modern components available and is at only 1.4mm more thickness (9.5mm vs 8.08mm) an automatic watch!

Besides, I'm sure both are fantastic watches....only the Patek in white gold is about $9000 more expensive; )

The Rolex movement has fake gold painted chatons, not actual gold rings.
I think Rolex is a great brand, but seeing the 1908 makes me think they should stick to their lane of sports watches with closed casebacks.
