I mean… goddam what a watch.

I know you’re just joking but there will be nothing ordinary about yours. Every single one that’s produced is special.

I still can customize mine because manufacturing has not commenced yet. Any ideas? Do you like the almost yellow gold of the Series 5 or the grayish with some yellow gold accents of the Series 3 open dial I posted? Any input is appreciated.

I would lean more towards the yellow gold of the Series 5 solely because it’s what I picture in my mind when someone mentions a RWS. It’s just such a classic/refined look.

How much freedom are you allowed customization wise? Also sorry if you mentioned it elsewhere but are you getting the 38mm or 40mm?

I have freedom to choose between the 38/40mm case, dial colour, colours of the plates/bridges and the engraving on/behind the dial. I have yet to decide whether to take 38mm or 40mm and will ask Roger Smith what are the lugs to lugs first. I have tried on 2 Series 2 (40mm) before and they fit well because Roger Smith lugs are very short. I have not tried on 38mm before.

Not bad as far as options go. You got some fun decisions to make.

An update:
AD has confirmed my delivery date which will be 2H 2025 (which is circa one year from today, plus minus a few months). Also confirmed the diameter (40mm), case material and the engraving design. Excited

Beautiful watch. Usually not a fan of these types of watches, but I make an exception for Smith.

Congratulations. After handling a Smith and a Daniels last year, they catapulted to the top of the dream list. Can't wait to see your watch when it arrives.

Without a shadow of a doubt the most gobsmacking watch I've ever had on my wrist.

A confirmation came from the Isle of Man, and the wait begins

Jeez! How fun.
I love the yellow gold open dial on the 5! Very exciting. Thx for sharing w us.
There’s always another level..
By the way, totally support this route/ this watch vs a MR PP. anyone can get that. This is more special I think.

18 a year. That makes you a chosen one! At this level of watch making, price doesn't seem matter as much as how much the patron appreciate the beauty of workmanship. I don't know if I will ever get to that level but sure fun to read threads like this. Congrats!

I do intend to visit him and his team at his Isle of Man workshop. Hope to add more to this thread in time to come.

He makes them on Isle of Man? I recently had a chance to visit the island, it was very interesting. If you’re able to it would maybe be cool to take delivery in person.

Yes his workshop is there. If my work schedule permits I will take delivery in person and meet the watchmaker making my watch

No update today but just want my 8,000th posts in TRF to be meaningful with this pic of a Series 2 OD from ACM. They take brilliant photo.
