Yes and no. It's a crab in the second photo and a shrimp in the last photo. At that depth, the shrimp are as large as lobsters.

VERY COOL!! Are the last two pics of a part of a sextant and the last one a leather boot? What was the water temp at that depth and last question where?

I once recovered a wooden saw handle from an 1888 wreck that was in very good shape at approx 120ft but that hull seems in remarkable shape.

You're close. It's an octant, the predecessor to the sextant. It was one of two completely intact octants we recovered. You can see this one is still wrapped in cotton cloth, which does not normally survive for long underwater. And yes, that is a leather boot.

The temperature at the bottom was slightly below freezing, maybe 30 degrees F. The exact location is a secret, but I can tell you it is in the Blake Basin, approximately 300 miles due east of northern Florida.

Send me your e-mail by PM and I will send you an article I co-wrote about the expedition.

It's amazing what can survive at depth in cold and dark water, even salt water, for so many years. So much to be found out there. PM sent.

Exp II at 12602ft

In the French Alps Aiguille Du Midi, access to highest mountain in occidental Europe th Mont-Blanc. Went there with a cable car though...
It was quite extraordinary.

This is 9,300 ft above the city downstairs :

Here is the majestuous Mont-Blanc on the right ( 15,767 ft ) :

hope you enjoyed

Here is a link to a photo gallery from one of my deep diving expeditions:

http://www.explorerconsulting.com/hi...eltitanic.html

See if you can count the number of Rolex watches worn on this expedition. Add three to your count, because I don't think they are clearly shown. Add 10 bonus points if you can identify the wearers simply because you know they wear one.

Care to elaborate?
Read some of his previous posts. He's been there.
