I think she thinks it's a lot of money for a watch. She still can't see the difference between a sub and a GMT, I'm afraid there's no hope for her.

Congratulations, Another way to look at it is not an early birthday present for this year but a late one from last year. Wear it in good health.

We were going to discuss it but when I said I wanted to claim the tax back the topic was dropped. It's because there's a charge levied for the administration which the shop are picking up. When I claim the tax, I'll get aproximately 13% back.

Congrats on your new GMT. I'm a major fan of this watch and was able to get one here in Sydney in December. As it has the new 3186 movement I'm sure we would like to hear how accurate it is during the first few months. Please keep us posted.

I know. Perhaps soon, the BKL will reconsider. And then again, perhaps not...

I'm still trying to work out why the date is so clear. I didn't hear Rolex ever using anti glare treatment, but if you look at the photo above you can see the cyclops is much clearer than the rest of the crystal. Those guys at Rolex are sneaky:)

Adrian,
I can not think of a finer way to celebrate your pending sixty years of life than buying something you enjoy. I wish you a pleasant sixtieth birthday. Enjoy!

Chris,

Those numbers are actually 18 K gold covered by the ceramic bezel.

Click on www.rolex.com and see how the bezel is actually made and the technology used. Very interesting.

Congratulations on your watch

Did you get any discount on the price ? I know that these are hard to find however curious to see the AD's are willing to give some discount. Please, advise since I am looking to buy one soon as well.

Congrats again on a nice investment. I am sure you will enjoy it for many years to come.

We were about to discuss this but as I am claiming the tax back when I leave the UK next Thursday, the matter was dropped. The store will pick up the administration charges. So in my case, no there wasn't a discount.

A really fantastic timepiece Congratulations and wear it in good health.

Question:
Wouldn't it have been cheaper in Bahrain or Dubai?

Very, very nice Steve.
IMHO the new TT GMT is the nicest 'modern' sports Rolex on offer.
Sounds like that dealer may be worth a visit if I'm ever down that neck of the woods.
Totally love the 'no reflection' cyclops - the cyclops on my sapphire watches can be hard to read and I find it mildly annoying .
Congrats - Neil.

I'm not sure of the prices there and there's always the problem of availability.
