Man the way such costs thousands just buy the strap you like

I haven’t had Everest, I have had rubber b, not a big fan of rubber but it looked good and fitted as well as you could expect for a rubber strap. Prefer it over oyster flex at least.

How did I not know this?

I also have a $15 rubber strap from amazon and the quality is virtually identical to the $$$$ strap from Everest.

Just got this Everest. As you can see, good lug fit. Feels fine.

for me, paying $300+ for a "strap" is bit excessive and ridiculously over priced.

On the other hand, I've been using Barton Bands and have absolutely no complaints. Their nylon Natos cost around $15. Leather quick releases $29... and Leather Natos for $21. Haven't purchased their rubber straps yet. But for $21, I'm sure it'll hold up to the same standards as the other straps that I currently have from them.

Totally agree. Rubber straps have got to be the biggest rip-off going. As long as you get the right rubber compound (FKM is the way forward these days), then anything over £20 is honestly just pure profiteering by the manufacturer. Personally I admit to having forked out reasonable sums for rubber straps over the years, with even Isofranes clocking in at circa £140 these days, but since discovering some very high quality FKM straps on (yes I admit it!) AliExpress, I can't see myself ever spending big money on rubber straps again.

Rubber straps are sold to watch manufacturers at around 15-40 CHF depending on the complexity of the strap (and it can be even more than 40 CHF. The Oysterflex straps have a Nitinol blade inside and Nitinol is very expensive)

And keep in mind that you need a mold for a rubber strap, which is not needed for NATO nor leather straps. And in Switzerland, such molds can cost up to 30k CHF. Hence, Rubber B has to sell them at a quite high price to make some profit.
In Asia it will be less expensive, of course. But sometimes, the quality is also lower (and sometimes it's the same, I agree)

I bought a white Rubber B strap for my Omega SMP300 a few years ago, and while i really liked the quality, it was too tight for my beefy 8.25" wrist, and unfortunately (at least at that time) they didn't make an "extra large" size.

Agreed that Rolex's Oysterflex is a slightly different case with the metal insert, but there is obviously still a huge mark-up simply because it's OEM Rolex... and I think everyone basically accepts that: if you want OEM kit then you pay OEM prices.

But I still maintain that other "all rubber", aftermarket rubber straps are generally a huge rip-off, even if we factor in regional manufacturing costs.

Rubber B is expensive but worth the price. There is a definitely a big difference between their strap (no experience with Everest but I heard they are as good and the difference has to do with how they wear on one’s wrist) and other rubber straps like Tempomat, Bonetto Cinturini and others which I used to own. For example, the Tempomat straps I had bought were lint and dust magnets while the Bonetto strap became discoloured (blackish at the edges) after some months. Could it be I was simply unlucky when it came to those non-Rubber B straps in question?

Hence I am not sure why members claim Rubber B straps are not very different from affordable ones sold on AliExpress for example. I am genuinely curious as I am definitely keen to buy affordable straps of comparable quality (as long as they are not silocone straps) if someone can share the names of the vendors in question. I don’t wish to spend more money if I can help it since any money saved I can devote to other accessories or straps of different colours.

Quality-wise, Ming’s recently released FKM strap is comparable to Rubber B from my own experience of owning straps from both brands. My 2 cents. :)

$15,000 for a watch makes so much sense however. I've used numerous of both brands and would only choose the one that looks best to my eye. They both are nice.

Interesting. I guess I might as well buy straight from Rubber B instead of buying from AP

For my Rolex Submariner I have a rubber B and for my deep Sea sea -dweller I have a rubber B swim skin i considered Everest but for some reason I didn't consider them as a band that would be as strong as a rubber b and since I don't want to lose my watch to a band breaking I went with the one that I felt was the strongest of the two.

A strap is a strap. Just because one sells for $300 doesn't make it any better than one you can find on Amazon for $15.

On the other hand, I do enjoy my Barton straps. It looks good, fits well, and doesn't break the bank.
