If you can verify 100% the watch is real, and are planning on keeping forever and dont care about resale value because its "naked", then $26k is a good price and below wholesale value for a Hulk right now.

Hhhhhmmmmm....interesting point.....valid only if you never want to own a collectible discontinued watch though.....so really a dumb comment which may only hold true for current references still in production.....

Cool thing about the HULK is the maxi case. For those that didn't like the big lugs, it fits perfect with the name HULK.

In theory, if you are buying the watch to wear and enjoy and trust the seller, it really shouldn't matter. In reality, most of us want the useless cardboard and papers that sit in the closet until it's time to flip and move on. With that said, it doesn't seem like a deal I would take.

For the absolutely not people, it would be more insightful to hear the reason why not. Price too high? Just refuse to buy without papers under any circumstance? Think the Hulk isn't worth it under any circumstance for that price? I don't follow prices of the Hulk even though I own one, but certainly if you buy without papers and save a couple grand, that makes up for it if you sell later on. It seems like a lot of the responses are to a question like "If I pay top dollar for a Hulk but with no papers, should I do it?"

My LVc is my daily wearer - I was lucky to get it at retail and don’t intend to sell it ,would only ever if I had too, so in that sense the papers etc are largely irrelevant. The the prices today are just madness and as much as I love the watch I would pass on paying that much for it today.

Do it! It's an amazing watch and I assume & hope you want to wear this one. $26k isn't a lot if you really think about it and price, long term, is only going up. If you're buying to speculate on price and not wear then stick to a full set.

Not if the poster doesn't like the LV.

I wouldn't have bought an LV at retail. Could have bought one at a small discount from a trusted reseller. Passed on that too.

Why? Simple. I don't like the fat lugs of that generation Sub. Give it a washed out green bezel that reminds me of cheap plastic garden furniture (moreso beside the admittedly beautiful dial) and I'm out.

If, on the other hand, I was just buying watches for investment potential or to flip for a quick profit (you know, the actions that are so derided on this forum - or used to be) then yeah, I'd buy it at retail.

For that price, you would need a full set. With no indication on year/service history, it could cost you $800 off the bat to get it serviced since some of them are more than 10years old now.
