Well duh, it would drive any reasonable person nuts if they were watching TV and someone kept pausing the TV to look at a watch, If you literally do it all of the time when you see a watch then I think it can be considered some form of obsessive compulsive behaviour. Regardless of your interest in watches it doesn't sound like a particularly healthy habit.

We have Verizon FIOs. Most cable remotes I believe are the same in that you can just hit pause. I do it all the time when watching sports to stuff my pie hole or go to bathroom.
