No need to be jealous. Just spend untold hours generously sharing your hard-won knowledge, and you will have some fans also.

Fan club? The guy spends countless hours freely giving out his years of knowledge to total strangers here for nothing more than the occasional ‘thank you’. Feel free to step up and start sharing your knowledge instead of tearing down other members. Geez.

Regardless of whether there are jealous thoughts, or egotistical opinions, or even hidden agendas between forum members.
Many people come here to the vintage section for their passion of watch collecting and the nuances involved in it. I appreciate that many here are willing to share the wealth of knowledge gained from personal experiences and through reading historical literature. At the end of the day we are all in the same boat and no one was born an expert…

I just received my 16750 back from service (first pictures I ever make of my GMT by the way). It was time for this "drawer bezel" to experience a new life.
I understand watch and bezel are not from the same period but I like the end result. |

OP: Looks Great!
I had forgotten all about this thread and I do not want to rekindle an old fire. BUTTTT since it has been bumped I do want to add that the gentleman that called out the Long 5 as fake (correctly) is a long time poster/contributor over at VRF for over a decade and a half. Rare posting here does not mean not knowledgeable.
