Thanks for all the interesting opinions on the 321.
I will be meeting with the seller next week to deal. As this is the first time I am getting an Omega, anything I should look out for? I know the case number, movement number and the warranty card must match. there is an omega imprint on the centre of the watch. does omega come with any tags like the rolex? TIA |

Watches come in a coffin separate from the official box. Coffin has the watch, price stickers, tag, red cards. The watch has plastic film on both crystals, the bracelet, etc. Omega has shifted to paper coffins from plastic. Both have a sticker with the watch model and SN on the side.
Presentation Box is the old standard moonwatch case/box (loupe, medallion, two straps, changing tool, etc.). There is also the big red manual and a small booklet on the 321 movement history. |

The AD kept my hang tag from the Silver Snoopy I picked up on St Patty’s day of last year. I so want a 321 next. Whenever I receive a call or text if I do that is. Beautiful watch.

Just collected the omega today. Looks fantastic and great. Came with the transport box and white tag as well. Only thing was the caliber 321 booklet was missing. Seller will go and check. But this watch is a very early batch, so may not have included the 321 booklet?
The watch is definitely bigger than expected at 39.7mm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Oh cool. But I am not the original owner and it was from a boutique overseas. I was given the original receipt though. Not sure if the local Omega Boutique will entertain me

It’s worth a shot FWIW, I didn’t receive one with mine either, but since I bought it from our boutique they were most helpful in sending me one. Seems that it’s one of those things that aren’t necessarily sent out each and every time You could also check eBay or other online sources. Congratulations again on the 321, it’s a work of art (on the wrist) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have what is probably a stupid question in regards to the 321 movement ...
What is that scale engraved between the letters A and R, and is that a moving hand on top of it? It almost looks like a power reserve indicator but I don't think that's what that is. Thanks ------- Edit. I think I figured it out. I guess it stands for Avance/Retard as a way to set the movement to keep time correctly.

This system is implemented in most classic mechanical watches.

Here's my ~2003 3572.50 w/1863 which happens to also have a display caseback: and my 321EW: The major change from the 321 to the 861 onwards is the chronograph function's control from the "column wheel" to "cam & lever". A quick study of the two will reveal the column wheel on the 321 and the cam on the 1863. Furthemore, the 321 uses a "classic" balance wheel with the counter-weights.

Man I really appreciate all this knowledge, especially because I have an Ed White on the way.
But what I actually meant is it common for it to be visible through a display caseback on other mechanical watches or is it a rare or unique feature to the latest 321 and/or other Omegas? I just don’t remember seeing it in other brands timepieces but that could be a me thing ... I could look this up myself but I'm hesitant to google 'balance cock display' :)

Just some trivia info, the 321 is based on the Lemania 2310 calibre, which was developed by Albert Piguet, IIRC is the cousin of Edward Piguet of Aduemars Piguet. The 2310 is also used by Patek, VC and Roger Dubius.
Enjoy your Ed White. |

As a recent owner of the 321, I can say it's worth every penny. Fortunately, I got it from the AD. However, we should be happy there's not a high premium for it. It wears very differently than a Speedster Professional. It feels so special and unique. I like knowing it's more rare than a Daytona and, even better, that most people don't know what it is.

I had been on my AD's list for years, he happens to be a good friend but he hasn't gotten a single one since it was released ... apparently most of them going to boutiques and Omega franchise stores. A few days ago when I found an unworn one from March 24 for $100 more than what would have been msrp + tax, I decided there's no point in waiting any more to get it through an AD and pulled the trigger. My first watch purchase ever was an Omega Seamaster in the early 90s, a what which I still own. After meandering through several of their timepieces over the last few years, this is likely the last Omega I will ever purchase for I cannot conceive off another model that more perfectly represents the brand. I just wish there were a way reverse the lugs to wear it upside down on the wrist ... I don't care what time it is, I just want to stare at the movement all day long.
