Must be new math. $30K = 2x $15k watches and not three. $30K - 3x $10K watches. I'd prefer 3X $15K watches over 1 x $30K watch.

At grey prices, I'd do a Sub LV and a Batman on jubilee. Add a Speedmaster or Daytona when you can. Land, air, sea!

If AD prices, 3 watches are possible, which would be my pick. In fact, when my Explorer comes in, I will have achieved that, though one is bimetal. Total will be just under $30,000.

I don’t think I would want to daily a PM so I’d go with the second option.

If only PM Daytona for me I’d be fine with that … three SS Models t retail would be Sub/GMT and at a stretch Daytona, I know would probably go over the 30k budget ..

Assuming no Rolexes owned I would go with the 3 SS choice. But today with one SS and one WG, I'd take a PM to change things up.

The three SS would be my choice. Submariner, Polar Explorer II, Sky-Dweller on Jubilee if you have the wrist for it. If not, DJ on Jubilee with the fluted bezel.

If you find one that sings to you, buy that one, otherwise 3.

If it's $30K max spend for my lifetime than I'm taking 3-5 SS Models Rolex + Others.

If $30K is just this years budget, Give me the PM Watch.

I would go for one PM watch over 3 lesser and more common stainless steel watches. I speak from experience, I do have a a few ss models: Pepsi GMT 126710BLRO, OP41 yellow dial 124300, Submariner 124060, and a DD40 yellow gold, black dial, diamond markers: #228238)
In terms of luxury items; If you can only purchase one item, buy the top item you can comfortably afford.

Put it this way: Would you rather own a beautiful $1,000,000 home or 3 average houses costing $333k each? I would prefer living the million dollar home.

If 30k, probably 3 Rolex SS. But ideally, 1 PM 1SS

To start, do the three SS. One day you will want a PM as you are already thinking about that.

3 at 30k.

I have a mental hangup about any one piece being over $10k.
