Crazy. If market ever turns back to pre-2018 I can see pieces like this being <50% retail because of the collab. Take the extreme rarity away and who actually wants this over a ‘normal’ openwork ceramic QP? Anybody beside Travis? Lol

My thoughts exactly. Not my cup of tea and certainly not what I would want/expect for a final at-bat for FHB.

I really love AP watches but this collaboration doesn't give the desired outcome IMO.

Those handwritten numerals come off as school childish to me as well, just weird to be on a high horology, openwork QP.
I think you know as well as I do that this is going to sell out easily, even if Reign's intel of 200 pieces is correct (edit: which it is - still seems quite large compared to the overall ceramic openworked QP production).

I wouldn't recognize any song by Travis Scott, but I'd wear this 100%. In fact, if it was $100k and I could get an allocation, I'd buy one, but I suspect it will be significantly more and impossible to get.

Unobtanium for the normies, but hey at least we can buy some merch tomorrow!

Good for Travis…must have been a dream/bucket list collab for him

Would have loved to see AP do something with JAY Z again given his 30 year anniversary in music and hip hop’s 50th anniv

Been a while since the JAY offshore

Cactus Jack (Travis Scott’s label) x AP Collab

Same could be said about the tourb Spider-Man AP concept, same could be said about the new Haribo looking gem’d out patek minute repeater aquanaut. Same thing with the jigsaw puzzle Presidential Rolex/blue Tiffany with all the dots. These watches are made for a specific niche clientele. That’s one of the reasons only a certain number is made (the second is rarity ).For example, who would’ve thought that the full diamond RO’s in different colors that they released last year would actually sell as a full set? But they did (a single buyer that paid around $10M). I don’t think this ruins these top brands.. I just think they are experimenting in less traditional ways than they used to in the past. Also, AP take pride working with music artists (Mark Ronson for example). Watch out for a AP x John Mayer and Ed Sheeran collab in the upcoming years. Plus, Hype sells lol.

I think this is 100%, nail-on-the-head, capstone achievement, on-brand for FHB, for better or worse. As a piece-unique, it would be much better than most I've seen. 200 pieces is a lot, but will sell. The co-branded merchandise I could do without.

$201k, supposedly. Out of my budget, so no need to worry about it. Wonder if Dmash is willing to bet on his sub-50% of retail prediction.

Agreed.

FBH loved/loves the culture…AP lyrics in some of the hottest songs to top the charts and on the wrist of some of the biggest artist in the game. Great final collabo

It will be controversial and polarizing for a lot of folks…but that’s what makes art / this sport fun

Omg that’s insane and it’s not even a full ceramic bracelet. My OW ceramic QP was $145k pre tax in 2021 and that’s a full bracelet

i personally think the watch is a home run and better than most of their recent collabs. i think the cactus jack branding was tastefully added as it's pretty subtle and doesn't ruin the overall look of QPs

price is crazy though...

Close to the pricing I got, which was around $210k

Either way $201k - $210k, outside my budget

I said if we ever returned to pre-2018 days (wishfully thinking). Didn’t say it’s going to do that. Please don’t misconstrue

As a rule I usually hate collaborations. That being said I love this… the branding isn’t too in your face and you have to go looking for the changes.
Price is crazy considering no bracelet but I’m not surprised.

they added a smiley and changed the font, not exactly "butchering" a watch...

you can argue rolex butchered their flagship (day date) with the puzzle dial because it even removed the complications but this is literally the same QP just in brown and 2 subtle design changes lol

Good point. I think if they gave an additional full brown ceramic bracelet to go with the set that would’ve been solid and maybe justified the price a little bit more.

Agree, this could have been super corny and I hate hypebeast culture (really like TS though) and thought this was very tastefully done. Only qualm apart from the price is that the bracelet is not full ceramic.

I think this was done really well for a collab. It feels like an AP QP, with some design cues from TS.

End of the day these are all sold anyway (try asking your SA…)

I think his piece unique. Would have been a better contrast with full diamond baguette

Never forget that FHB give a piece unique and 25 pieces run limited edition to his friend Gims, and that one have sunglasses on dial Soft spot for rappers...

At the end of the day it is a fun watch, it is probably sold out, will trade for 80k more... and the merch is crap as everybody see but it will be lit, dope shit, myth on insta comments...

Personally a fan of this particular collaboration. Feel like Travis Scott over the years has done pretty well with his collabs (Jordan, Mcdonalds, Soda, etc). If by some strand of luck, I was able to get an allocation, I would certainly buy knowing I could never lose if I wanted to back out.

I actually have no problem with the marvel release, Matt Williams, music edition, bucci, and other collabs.

This one, however, is an abomination. Jay z, LeBron, and Arnold are also all ok bc they aren’t horrible role models (although they aren’t perfect either), but Travis is a joke of a musician and should have been held responsible for those 10 deaths. Terrible look for AP

Omg, the tackiest! The Moonswatch wasn't the first, but was one of the first to come to widespread attention. Every other one since is just cringy. Everyone & their brother knows what an APRO is now... does AP need more people banging on their doors asking for a watch? Maybe they have a lot of Code 11.59s they need to move
