Love seeing threads like this honestly, we need more of this instead of plastic wrapping our watches and cringing at the first nick (myself included)

Most would easily revert to looking brand new with a light polish if ever desired. There is no need to have safe queens unless you’re holding something extremely rare solely for investment. |

GOAT, sometimes life is what happens while making other plans. Am hoping to see more well-worn pieces from TRF members. Especially from the ones who have been members for more than three years

My 14060, worn for more than 28 years. Serviced but never polished. The coronet on the clasp is still amazingly crisp...

Does wear count?
I have a four dig reference Oyster bracelet where the links broke apart from wear. |

Yes, honestly, within reason of course! I´d never wear it for construction work and the like, but it has held up during all the normal everyday activities I can think of. I´ve never babied it, and it just carries on ticking...

Thank you! When I bought it new in February 1996 (walk in, try on, bracelet sized, paid, walk out...as it was and should be!) I had no idea it would become one of the classic Rolexes! One helluva tough watch.

When my wife dropped hers from the counter top to the tile floor, it resulted in a trip to RSC and $2,800. Shattered the crystal and destroyed the hands and damaged the Diamond dial.

I was lucky to avoid damage to the crystal and bezel because of how the watch landed, but the movement was heavily damaged. RSC repaired it at no cost. I detailed the whole story here; https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=903924 |

Took this pic before sending it in for service. Had probably 15 years of daily wear on it. Today, I wear many different watches, and all are in great condition. I wear a 16570 or a Breitling SO when I'm working around the house, in the yard, painting, etc. and they still look pretty good!

Jocke is a 'ringer'....
Akin to having Mike Tyson in Fight Club.
