These are hype nicknames, the same applies to "batman" on the Rolex search.

Rolex makes no attempt to market its references with such names across media channels or search engines. Its own internal search just recognises the nicknames to allow new to brand users, influenced by hype to find out more details for its watches.
Why does there need to be an argument? If you don't like the nickname, then don't refer to the watch by it. Why does it need to make sense? Why does it have to please everybody? Does your name/nickname pleases everyone?

What are you talking about.

I don't care what the nickname is. My dispute was an earlier suggestion from another member to say Rolex recognises the nickname.

My response was to say that was a weak argument. They don't and have never referenced these nicknames in any of the their media or marketing - at least to my knowledge.

It is simply a feature of their web site search to acknowledge new to brand buyers using these names to research info on the reference.

My personal opinions are completely irrelevant and not a factor in my comments. I don't make a habit of telling people what to think or say, not my business.

Dealers take in this watch between $30k to $31k if you want to know.

Yes. Only watch nerds get triggered by this and that’s ok.

It's a tad high. I've seen them on Moda for less, in the high $31Ks to low $32Ks.

The dealer is a trusted jewelry store in Totowa NJ (good reviews on Google) . Guy told me he's only making $500 on it. Hmmm.

Yes call (or email) the same grey from a different phone number (or email) and say you have the watch, then you will know how much theyre paying for it.

So what is the model number of the Pepsi GMT you are referring to?

Lol you're gonna have a tough time if you always think about what items cost a manufacturer to make.

Invest millions of $$ in equipment, people, skills and marketing over decades, and maybe you will be able to sell a product for $15k that cost you $4k to make.

I agree that paying over retail is a pill that not everyone wants to swallow though. To some it doesn't matter. To me it does. However I don't resent Rolex for what it costs to make them - that's a weird outlook considering our hobby.

You would have lost your mind when it was over $50k during Covid.

I would think most dealers are striving to obtain 20 percent. Easy to find out, just call a few dealers and see what they will pay you for this watch
