I’d leave it alone. I like it how it is

I do marginally prefer contrasting full colour sub dials. The kind you find on some precious metal variants

Yes, you’re right, but the true reference sizing has been covered ad nauseam on TRF.

Final point, the 4 digit Daytona was marketed as a 39mm

I see what you're trying to say, but it leaves for a very inaccurate conversation, because there is no option for a "true 40mm" in the poll. What do I pick, since I want an actual 40mm model of the Daytona? There is no such option.

needs a case size update badly. Anything under true 40mm is a woman's watch.

I vote modernist. I love the PCL's as well.

I agree, it’s much like the new sub marketed at 41mm but in fact it’s an imperceptible 0.03 mm larger in reality. Unfortunately, had I used real measurements I feel 90% of participants would wonder what I was talking about, since Rolex has successfully misinformed the world for several decades. Just like they did back in the 60s/70s with the 4 digit at 39mm when in reality it was also less.

With Rolex, if you want 40 then their 41 will be a close as you can get. Likewise, their 42/43 are more real-world 41/42’ish.

I’m a massive lover of the current Daytona. For me the current dimensions are perfect. I’d love a date function though

Should be 0.3mm instead of 0.03mm. Nonetheless 0.3mm would still be imperceptible to most people.

New movement with high beatrate(36k to time to .1). Thinner. More colors. Figure out a way to not need screw down pushers and still have the water resistance. More bracelets. Drop the officially certified text. Raise the msrp a bit to account for the new movement and features and to reduce demand a hair.

42mm case, large date window at 12 o'clock (no cyclops), remove some of the text, make subdials larger, same lugs left and right.

This is probably not a popular view, but I think the stainless models look really great with a brushed finish similar to that of the Sub.

I wouldn’t mind two or three lines of text instead of the novel at the top of the dial.

True 40mm and get back to zenith dial symmetry. Don’t like the subdial location on the newer ones. Brushed lugs would be nice.

Sounds like some of you are pretty much suggesting this, chuck a coronet on it and it’s ready.

Back to steel bezel, and maybe increase size by 1mm, or stay the same.

I love the 7980. Can’t figure why this hasn’t become more popular.

Agree 100% - the zenith was such a harmonious dial configuration with the narrow hour markers and the thinner subdial color layout

Honestly, I’m happy the way they are. Don’t want it bigger, don’t want a date. I like precious metal bezels on all gold models. Like the ceramic bezel on stainless steel watches.

I have a 116508 and a 116500LN so I’m done. Any changes won’t bother me.

Get rid of the screw down pushers but allow the watch to keep its water resistance with chronograph running.

More legible.
Not exactly sure how to accomplish that. Perhaps bigger hands and higher contrast.

Rolex listens - Daytona, what would you change?

I think this is the best option, but unfortunately, i would bet money on a larger Daytona coming at some point. I think they thin the lugs and move up to 41mm.
