It's much cooler to be the guy who can wear a gold watch without worrying too much (and has some patina to show for it) than the one who has a shiny new one. Enjoy the pristine polish while it lasts, but don't think it'll get worse with use.

If you can't stomach it due to resale value or whatever, it's better to get rid of the watch. Just think twice before you do - it's a beautiful model and definitely made for everyday use.
