Considering your multiple phase review with updates of the current exp2 was a huge it here I think rolex should immediately send you the new one to provide us with the same review. Great job. I am waiting to compare and contrast the incoming exp2 with the current for my next watch.

Most excellent review! After almost 11 years with a black 16570, i can't say that the clasp or bracelet have ever been an issue. For my wrist, they are incredibly comfortable and i can't see them failing, stretching or what not.

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum, and am on the brink of purchasing a pre-owned Explorer 16570 white dial.
I have only ever owned Seiko, Citizen and Mont Blanc models, so reading through this forum on all the various specs and works of the various watches was certainly intriguing and exciting.

However I would just like to ask for your opinions on which series to get, that will be worth keeping, and eventually passing down to my baby son in the future. (I hope this wont be the only watch .

)
Hopefully to eventually get a Pam24 and an IWC Portofino too.

Any idea if the 3185 movement series are still worth getting, and also your thoughts on single "swiss" and "t<25" dials.

All kind recommendations, feedbacks and opinions will be greatly appreciated!

I know you have received some good answers on the main forum and I can only second the recommendations to search for the one with the solid end link bracelets (SEL) and superluminova dials. I bought one with a 3186 but really do not think it makes that much of a difference.

If you buy a more recent serial, you can take a little more comfort that you may not need a service for a couple of years.

Let us know when you find your target.

I am actually looking forward to trying on the new model to see if it wears any differently. The light weight of the "old" model is hard to beat though.

Great review. I too like the stealth quality of the Exp2 and the GMT. And I am also laughing b/c, being part Hawai'ian, I -always- want to know what time it is back home....
