In fact, my AD received FOUR SD's in the shipment from Rolex: 3 "M" series and 1 "Z" series. I had a look at all four to find the nicest (although there SHOULD be no difference, sometimes there ARE tiny differences all the same). I chose the "M" with the easiest serial number and (being supersticious sometimes) avoided an "M" series with a lot of "4"'s in the serial number (the number 4 means "death" and is unlucky in China)

Mine did not come with an anchor also and I bought mine a week ago. I think that it was done away with because of the new packaging, etc. James

That is a symbol that is on all new Rolex watches. It is printed on the plastic cover that you can peel of the case sides.
The symbol is in fact a bar code that contains information for Rolex' records about stock of factory.

An update:
I just checked to precision and my SD has gained 4,5 seconds since the 6th. of September where I bought (swopped) it. But now a question: Yesterday, it was only 2 secs fast, but overnight it gained other 2secs. As far as I know, "Positional correction" - as shown underneath - does not really have any influence on MODERN Rolex watches. I do put it on my bedside table with the crown DOWN (to let is lose some seconds). But it does not seem to work since it actually gained 2 secs overnight. Not much, but still much in comparison to 2 secs over the 2 previous DAYS. What would you do, guys? Here is the guide to "Positional Correction":

No, I have yet to flip a Rolex due to bad timekeeping. The TK is also not bad at all, but I was curious about how one can correct the time gained during the night. That "Positional Correction" overview above does not really have any effect on modern Rolex watches, as I stated.

Bo just stick it out. Your SD is going to take several weeks to normalize and the movement will "break in" to a regular discrepancy (if any)

Still it seems to gained "much" in the night. Funny thing is that this "Positional Correction" overview about states that your watch will lose "some more secs" if the watch is lying with the crown UP. However, I make an experiment yesterday before I went to sleep: Having had a "lazy Sunday", I gave my SD some "Brandy Swirls" before going to bed to boost the power reserve a bit. And I laid my SD with crown DOWN: Result: ZERO deviation during the night!
