Icon6 The Green GMT Hand Stick Dial..

There are two interesting variants in this model that many didn't take notice of thus far but for those who "hate" all this minor dial and movement variance, please don't me ok? LOL
To continue from where I left off the other day, aside from the interest that was generated from the “Stick Dial” spotted by some Rolex Enthus on the Green Hand GMT, this dial seems to appear only on the “V” series of this model, the 116710LN. I have gone through a few series from “Z” series onwards and so far, I have only managed to spot them on the “V” series.

In comparison to the 16710, the Stick Dial was spotted as far back as the “F” series of the 16710, through the end of the production for this model, according to some Rolex forumers who researched widely on this. If the Green GMT Hand’s Stick Dials have only been spotted randomly on the “V” series, this would make the 116710LN’s Stick Dial harder to find than the Stick Dial of the 16710 and perhaps more desirable in the future.

If TRF-ers can post their 116710LN that have the Stick Dial, together with the series, first three digit and year of purchase, that would greatly aid in the study into this dial variant

And to those who hate the Stick Dial “phenomenon, please don’t me ok?!

Yap, agree 100% to this

IMHO, in the world of watch collecting, different folks look at different aspect of a watch. Some collect watches based on its movements, some their rarity while others are very much into the dial variants of the watches

Came across this today, looks like the value went a little up...

Watch: What is "watch"?
Mine doesn't, personally. But it is a later model 116710LN. It is a genuine dial though, and likely from 08' when they first released, as the stick dial was also present on late model 16710T's, both with 3185 and 3186 movements, that were made concurrent to the release of the new 116710LN.

If I had to guess, this watch is in that 08'/09' production range. I guess they did it to "commemorate" the transition to the first ceramic sports Rolex, exclusively made with the "new" cal. 3186
