I went with white Romans for my DD40. Loved the crisp look of the white against the yellow gold.

Of the two you are considering, I would go with the black dial version. Just my opinion. Always get what turns you on, not what is necessarily available or what the crowd likes.

I really liked the champagne with baguettes but the legibility was an issue for me. Went with the white dial. Crisp. They're all beautiful.

It's tough to say and it really depends on your skin tone too. You have to see them on your flesh to really know what is best for you.

I thought I liked the champagne dial with baguettes best until I actually tried it on and it was too washed out with my skin tone. I need a dial that contrasts better with my skin. i.e. black dial or even white. The champagne is too matchy.

Champagne dial is undoubtedly the quintessential DD but is impossible to read. I went for white but they’re really all terrific.

the white dial is a beautiful watch and I understand personal preference will drive decisions to buy certain dial colours over others, but I’m not understanding the comment about legibility of the champagne dial.

I’ve never had any problem reading the time on my champagne dial, and I believe if you have a problem reading that, you would have the same problem with the white dial.

When I bought mine I had a choice of several and tried them all on. Legibility wasn’t an issue on any of them, but if your eyes have issues seeing contrast, I believe a black dial would work best on this watch.

Other than that, it’s personal preference or availability I would say.
