Have him explain the history of the "Torneau Brand," details of its movement, and examples of open-market resale value as it would compare to your Submariner.

You own one of the best - in boat talk, don't trade your Cobalt for a Sea Ray!

Just went on eBay to look at Tourneau watches, talk about NO resale value!!!!!

Every time I see a story about Tourneau on TRF, I hate them more!

Tourneau is one of the worst stores out there IMHO; and as to their house brand watches I would not touch one with a 10 foot pole.

I can only imagine how much that house brand watch cost if they are giving you 3.5k in credit.... and what do you get for that? A contract made watch most likely containing a generic movement that in 6 weeks, 6 months, 6 years or 2 decades will not have even half the collector appeal or re-sale value that your rolex will. If you totally love the Tourneau watch and there is nothing similar from another source and you think it represents reasonable value for you then by all means go for it, otherwise I'd stay away, far, far away.
Yeah, I was looking to trade up for another rolex but I was just curious what people thought here of my encounter with that salesperson.

Ofcourse I was looking at a daytona, and in that store the white dial one with steel finish was 15,500.

Tourneau will never get a penny from me, can't stand the way they do business. There are too many other AD's out there that want your business and treat you like a human being!

tourneau is one of the worst Rolex retailers around.

I agree steven. I have said this a few times now.

I believe it is THE worst Rolex retailer in the US.

Go to the one in San Francisco and watch how they treat people. It is unbelievable.

SLS, you are very correct.

The sales people in San Francisco are the most aggressive, condescending and arrogant people you will ever find in any kind of store. Full stop.

Whats the conditon of your Sub? Maybe I'll buy it and you can use the cash to go to other ADs to buy another Rolex. I have a great AD that discounts on sports models too if you need a AD

I am new here, but my opinion stay far away from them. It is a good store to go look at watches and try them on since they have a big selection, but I would never buy from them. Went to the one on 34th street New York for an extra link for my sub and she takes my watch in the back to compare the links on the watch to what they had. That made me feel real uncomfortable since it was my first new Rolex. She dumps out a bunch of links out of a bin and tries to match them up. As I was watching her I told her I could not believe how unorganized they were. Then after 10 to 15 minutes she says they don’t have one. So I ask can they order one and how much. She replies with a sigh and said she would have to call Rolex to find the price and it would take 4 to 5 weeks. I began to laugh and said how’s it going to take 4-5 weeks when the Rolex service building is just a few blocks away on 5th avenue. She had nothing to say and just stood their looking at me with this dumb look. I told her thanks for nothing and was out of there. As for the link, I went to another AD and they got me the link in 2 days and charged me nothing to put it on and size it to my wrist. They also gave it to my at cost or just a super discount compared to the other AD trying to charge me for it. All they asked of me was to consider them on my next purchase. Also, like you said they are wolves in there trying to sell you anything. Like I said good place to look, but would never buy from there and would never ever buy their brand.

I'm going to have to go in there and offer up my Sea-Dweller in trade, then tell them what rubbish their brand is.

i personally have had no issues with Torneau, the Costa Mesa Location and Cesar's Palace and bought my GMT Master II and an Explorer II for my bro. I had little to no issues and got a 2 year no interest on both. I guess if you go in there to trade, its a bad idea but if your intent is to buy, it really isnt that bad.

I guess you know that if you go into any establishment with the intention of trading in anything, you will get boned.
