You'll probably have trouble finding a new one. I haven't seen any at ADs after some were released in the 4 digit range a few months ago and that's also when the incoming LHD posts stopped.

My AD said that Tudor has slowed down the delivery of these after the initial push. Several had shown up on the forums/Ebay at quite a discount. Not massive, but significant.

I am not sure if it was this or the fact that they switched their production focus to Basel pieces.

The Pelagos is incredible. Don't buy the one with the fake pee colored lume.

All these watches are overpriced (Tudor _and_ Rolex.) We just hope that people continue to buy overpriced watches so the ones we bought retain their "value" My FIL bought his Sub decades ago for < $200, today's blinged out models have a lot of profit margin for the manufacturer.

Anyway OP, the Pelagos is a nice watch, go for it.

I'll bite.

So then what mid-tier watch at a mid-tier price compares favorably to the overpriced mid-tier Rolex? Something with comparable materials, build quality, movement, etc.

Hint: the watch he's referring to is the topic of this thread.

I do have a use for the GMT or second time zone as I regularly travel from east to west coast and out to Scandinavia. By "five digit" you mean from a few years back? I'll look into this.
Then you'll only be 3-4k short of a 5 digit.

I prefer the Black Bay over Pelagos...the latter dial reminds me of a poker chip for some reason, but that's just my hangup.

King Jewelers, Nashville, TN, AD for Rolex and Tudor has an LHD in inventory. Saw it yesterday. Very nice piece.

Grand Seiko

Seiko and Rolex are the only manufactures with the scope to pull off the quality of build they have for their price points.

Quick question for those who own and wear the Pelagos.

How are the lugs? Do they drop much? While I will go try one at the local AD, I've found that 42 mm watches with lug-to-lug of around 50 mm are gappy above my 6.5" flat wrist.

If you're a diver, do it. No need for a GMT if you're underwater
