My all time favorite modern sub, def go for it. I sold my current sub date last summer and paid the extra 7k for a 2019 unpolished example. That green really pops in the sunlight and turns dark in dimmer lighting.

The lugs are enormous!. I traded my 16110LN plus cash for a Hulk a few years ago. I have skinny barely 6 1/2” wrists but I wanted a Hulk so badly. After owning it and wearing it, I still think it’s one of the most beautiful green dials out there, but that case started to look like a giant square block on my wrist, and I missed my 5 digit sub and the way it fit me so perfectly. Ultimately I sold my Hulk to a buddy a few months ago. He has some proper sized wrists and it looks great on him..

Moral is I wish I hadn’t traded my 5 digit and just dug deep and bought the Hulk outright. I still love green and just decided to pick up a 16610LV. It’s what I should have done from the beginning.

I do wonder this..would I massively notice it going from 124060 back to that? I had hulk for 3 years and found it extremely comfortable but maybe now it would feel not so?

I wouldn't trade.

What is the Hulk's real value, is it worth £15k? If you did the trade and then realised that the nostalgia trip hasn't worked, how much would you lose reselling the Hulk, £3k or more, how would you get another 124060, Watchfinder at a premium or via the AD after a wait?

Keeping the 124060 would be the best way forward IMHO, get the Hulk and if its a happy reunion sell the 124060 a few months down the road.

Buying back the Hulk won't feel the same as your first Hulk, and you'll soon be missing your ND. The ship has sailed, let it go.

I wouldn't ever be able to get another 124060 from AD no one ever get's multiples of any model no matter who you are (or so i'm told)

RE: resale, i'd also want to RSC it so that's another £800-1000 on top and I agree with you, it would come at a loss of a few grand for sure but I think that's just because Hulk is at it's peak price wise now..long way from the £6050 I paid back in 2015 urgh

Sadly I feel this may be true. I am on the list for the Cermit 2 years now so maybe that will half fill the gap :)

People complaining about the lugs is silly. The lug sizes are miniscule from gen to gen and from a few feet away isn't even noticeable on the wrist.

The Hulk is also arguably the most iconic watch Rolex has ever offered. The Submariner is the most renowned watch ever made and the hulk is the most hyped/desired (in my opinion) Submariner ref.

So the answer is simple.

My take, keep what you got and admire the Hulk vicariously here. At least until you save enough to purchase it outright.

I own a Hulk and I’ve owned it since 2017. It will never leave my collection but you’re giving up a lot to get it back.

I’m in the camp of doing what you want, but I fear you may not feel the same about it today that you once did and you’d be into it for a pretty penny.

That being said, the current 126 doesn’t do it for me, so my vote is yes, but if you can add and own both for a bit as others have said, that’s probably the route to take.

I had the Hulk as well and i miss the green, but the old reference was not comfortable and felt like it was covering all of my wrist. the 124060 is more comfortable, if you still miss the Hulk then i would recommend the 126610lv (mk1 has the same shade of hulk while the mk2 is more of t Kermit which is more vibrant and alive), otherwise wait few years untill they revamp the Hulk and discontinue the current 126610LV

No Date 124060 is nothing special, and you can get it from another AD within a couple of years if you need to. Also prices at grey will continue to come down in the coming years. The Hulk is different as it's one of the most desirable modern reference in Rolex history, and it will continue to rise in price over the next 5-10 years. If you hold the Hulk you won't lose much or may even gain if you decide to sell after a period of 5-8 years. Hulk has the most fitting nickname in Rolex history because of the lungs, and green dial/bezel. I would take the Hulk lugs over the oversized bracelet, and clasp of the new 124060 any time. Best scenario In my opinion is keep both, but you should definitely get the Hulk back again because you clearly want it.

For me, there is yet a watch to be made worth any premium.
But that’s me.
And I own a Hulk, but at retail from AD.

When you buy any Rolex from AD after price increase or several price increases it's at a premium. When the watch is introduced it's the actual price the manufacturer feels it's worth, then price is increased to make more profit every year or counter the minimal cost increases if any. Any watch selling at high premium on grey is usually less expensive than what you are going to spend to get it from your AD, your cost at the AD is not actually the retail price you buy it for. You may be fortunate to buy the Hulk at retail or discount before the Rolex hype like the OP, but things have changed even for the Hulk at least 2 years before discontinuation.

What I said still stands.
I will never buy into hype and pay above retail for any watch.
That obviously infers grey market.
In the end, it’s just a watch and if I can’t get one at retail or below, I’ll buy something else.
It’s not food or shelter required for survival.
If more did the same, they wouldn’t be selling at a premium.

I'm waiting for prices to come down further on several watches from Rolex and Patek to buy grey. Unfortunately desired models are being given to people other than me even with purchase history. You are right, but I don't have your self control unfortunately.

I don't like the numbers on your trade offer. 1K against you imho.

Keep looking, Hulks are not consistently priced presently as the market is a bit unsure where they should be.

They seem to vary greatly based on year and condition from what i'm seeing but I will RSC service it so wondering if thats worth going for an older 2013 say over a 2019 as I will get a 5 year from Rolex I think?
