Love the Deep Sea, the Presidents Day/Date....but just don't know how motivated I would be to have another...but then again, see how I feel in 6 months or a year. |

Maybe keep the favorite in your current collection and sell the rest.
If you find yourself wearing the SD exclusively, then make the full commitment. |

I’m with AP on the cuff issue. I rock this guy with dress shirts on occasion, and it fits fine...but then, I also got rid of my dress watches, which isn’t a move for everyone. I find the SD43 pretty versatile, generally speaking, but I’m not sure I could do it as my only. I have a few with thinner profiles, and find them useful. Maybe keep the bluesy and pick up the SD? Lots of good options here. I do love this beauty a lot and am glad to own it! |

Agree completely with the "you're a one watch guy or not" thought...I've wrestled with that for 10+ years and the collection doesn't seem to be shrinking.

OP are you really a one watch guy or just someone who is suffering guilt pangs ?? Sounds like the latter from what you say.
If you love the ones you have keep them and don’t buy anymore for a while. The guilt will subside and the expenditure will average itself out as time goes by. Is spending even more money going to solve anything ?? However if you did buy an SD43 then I think it could be a one and only. If I had to give up all mine and keep just one, that’s what would be left and that include the D-blue. It is a stunning watch, that I wear with a dress shirt with no problems. |

Currently my sd43 is my only watch, but 3 watches is the ideal number of watches for me. Minimum 2 watches, 1 metal bracelet and 1 leather strap.

Never thought of being a one watch man before... but if I did I think SD43 would be high on my list, with LVc and WG Daytona OF as well for a Rolex.

I'm probably the wrong guy to ask. When you say 'one and only,' I start to break out in hives.
However, it's such a great watch, I could see it being a one and only. If such a thing exists. |

I'm a two and only with the SD43 being my daily and my Patek Aquanaut as back up. But Sd43 can easily be a one and only.

I have grown to be a more than just "a one watch man" but the SD43 could be an awesome "one and only" watch.

Thanks for all the great responses guys
I'm still on the fence at the moment. I'm on 'the list' with my local AD so now it's just a waiting game... I will see how I feel once the watch is on my wrist... Cheers Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

It could be...for me definitely no...its just too big and heavy to put up with every day. If it was one Rolex and one only for every day...I'll have a datejust please.

Its not the watch that dictates if that is possible or not, its the wearer. So. some questions to help your thought process: 1) Why do you have 4 watches? 2) Why did you buy the 116613LB when you already had the SS Sub date? 3) Is the SD43 special enough to be an only watch for you? 4) By only watch, do you mean only expensive watch? Or only watch full stop? Now if circumstances dictaed that the SD43 had to be your only watch - the gun to the head or zombie apocolypse scenario then in terms of your collection, yes it could. In purely objective terms, an only watch has to be versatile above all else, in which case your Omega, Your Sub date or the SD43 are all as versatile as each other. The LB and the pam are not quite as versatile due to the blue/gold and the strap. If pushed, the SD43 probably the Sub date and the Omega on purely technical merit. But watch ownership isn't objective. Its subjective. If it was my choice, I'd sell the Subs and the Omega, buy the SD43 and keep the PAM

I'm a two watch guy personally. I guess it depends on your job (do you have to wear dress shirts) and how often you need to "dress up"
My preference is for one sport and one dress watch so that's how I ended up with an SD43 and a DJII. However, if I were to decide to go to one watch only, it would be the Sea Dweller by miles and miles. If western civilization were to melt down, is there any other watch out there you would take over the SD43??? Not sure I could think of one. |

Agreed. I'm a huge fan of the SD, but I've found the SD43 to be a tight fit with cuffs, and the bezel to be sharper. So I don't wear often to the office, it's more of an after work and weekend watch for me.

Hi - thanks I have already tried one - I happend to be at my AD around August last year, just as they were prepping for a special Basel presentation evening.
They had all the 2017 releases and I was lucky enough to get a good look/try on session as I have bought a couple of watches from them previously and the Manager knows I'm interested in the SD. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

Being a one watch guy has its benefits but its a hardcore philosophy you need to believe in at 100%.
If the size is right the SD43 makes a great one and only. I went for the timeless sub for one and only. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
