Rolex GMT Pepsi - I can’t believe how much I love this watch!

You cannot be more wrong. I never have honeymoon periods and that is the point. This watch is different, it is better. The argument is rational not emotional.

This is based on fact, this watch is superior in every way to any I have owned before.

People have mentioned purple. I must be colour blind because there is no purple on this watch.

I must agree that the pepsi 16710 with oyster looks better than the newer version, the purple bezel just looks off. But I know many people prefer the flashier jubilee bracelet, just looks to busy for my eye.

Looks great Robby! I keep looking at videos of this watch on Instagram as it really does seem to sparkle and shine as the light reflects off the jubilee bracelet. Do you find that with it? My BLNR was a bit like that and something that I liked about it.

I also like the bezel colours on the BLRO and can't see the purple / pink issue people talk about. Perhaps we're both colour-blind haha

hi,

thanks for posting this.
it touches on a few aspects I was interested, also.

I sold my Explorer recently and I am interested in the Pepsi, although I want to make sure it is not just the hype of the new model that drives me.

Initially I said the watch is too bling bling but, now, I am considering it. I am glad you say that colours of the bezel are not as bright. I have not seen the watch yet and I do not have my own opinion yet.

Jubilee bracelet, this would be a first for me too. I still think this watch would look better on oyster but what can we do....Rolex's marketing decided so. Maybe, in the future (you never know) some other oyster bracelet would fit.

Value wise, this watch make more sense to me than any other sport model. The new 70hrs power reserve caliber is a deal braker for me. You have date, gmt and 70 hrs power reserve....Daytona has 70hrs power reserve but has a complication that I would never use, plus it costs more.
That is just thinking rational, I still like the CDaytona.

Congrats on your new watch. Wear it in good health.

PS: Pls do post more impressions. How does it wear? does it go with everything?

Very cool. They're here! I was beginning to think most wouldn't see one given the heavy pocket lunatic demand.

Yours doesn't have the ROLEXROLEXROLEX going around so it might not be.

TGFT.

But it has a 3186 movement.

You could suggest a new name for the new ceramic model.

How about it?

I'm with you 100% on this Robby

I've never bought anything I didn't really want. As a result I've never fallen out of love with any of them. Moved them on for different reasons, but never because the "honeymoon" was over.

Its a fantastic watch. Personally I prefer the bezel colours to those on the aluminium inserts. They are classier than the bright metallics. I don't think its by design, however, but that's totally fine in my eye.

Interesting to read your take on the case/lugs. I'm convinced the profiling is subtly different - better- than the previous GMT Cs. Might be just an illusion created by the jubilee and end link style, but it does look better to me. If Rolex had gone a step further and given it SD43 style lugs that would have been perfection. All just my opinion, of course

I'm not 100% on the jubilee. How does it feel in terms of solidity compared to the solid oyster?

I second.

It’s no longer a Pepsi! The iconic/ crisp color of blue & red.

Think about it, if this was the same iconic color that will come out?
IMHO- a hotcake!

Considering this is a necro-post, we should at least ask the OP if he still feels the same way :)

Beautiful watch. Was on my list until I was in the AD last week picking up another watch and saw the TT Rootbeer. Close, but I think I'm going with the TT. Best of luck and wear it in good health.

I love my Pepsi!

But the bezel is purple. Sorry.

Put it this way: It's not blue.

If it were clearly blue, this argument wouldn't have been consistently resurfacing for 2 years now.

Really well thought out post my friend.

LOL, people have been predicting every year that there will be a new Coke Rolex. It's far too popular a model for that forecast not to come to pass at some point in the future!
